Time+Space has announced the release of Extreme Environments, a soundscape creator instrument library by Zero-G and Si Begg.
Zero-G Extreme Environments combines a state-of-the-art Kontakt user interface with loops and impulse responses to produce a highly flexible tool for creating very rich, detailed and hyper-real sounds – from beds and drones to actual pads and instruments you can play.
Produced by Si Begg, the sound design supremo behind other Zero-G titles including Distorted Dancefloors and Electro Glitch Essentials, Extreme Environments features three channels where you can select any one of the 142 loops.
For each channel you can then control the pitch, time stretch, amplitude & filter envelopes, saturation and reverb send. All three channels are then mixed together and put through master high pass and low pass filters, then finally a limiter.
The other key part of the instrument is the convolution reverb, which any of the three channels can be sent to. You can choose any one of the 86 bespoke impulse responses, ranging from straightforward to extreme sound design. This adds great depth and atmospheric detail beyond the standard reverbs you might usually come across. The combination of all these features makes for an almost limitless palette of sound creation.
Extreme Environments features
- Kontakt Instrument with custom GUI and over 150 presets (requires Kontakt version 5.3.0 or later).
- Audio loops – available as AIFF Apple Loops or Acidized wav files.
- Impulse responses for use with any convolution reverb.
- Logic EXS24 Instruments and Reason NN-XT Instruments.
- Space Designer Presets.
- Logic Channel Strip Settings.
Extreme Environments is available for purchase for RRP £59.95 GBP / 74.95 EUR.

Root-sounds has launched Percussive Innuendo, a multi-format percussion library featuring over 2,000 samples mapped for EXS24, NI Kontakt, Reason NNXT and ProTools Structure.
You can never have too many percussion sounds. Percussive Innuendo is the perfect way to expand your existing percussion library with instruments or playing techniques not found in most libraries. For example, Tam-tam hits or rolls are great, but how about the dramatic effects you get from bowing and scratching for instant mystery or horror scores. For better blending, there are, of course, also normal soft and loud hits. We have also included some rare sounds, like a siren which is called for in very few orchestral scores (like Ionization by Edgar Varèse).
We were fortunate to be able to raid the percussion rooms of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. These sounds make up the bulk of the library, but you also get selected sounds from the collection of the University of Victoria, B.C., Mills College, California, as well as private collections.
Percussive Innuendo Gold edition (contains dry and wet versions) is available to purchase for $89 USD, a Standard edition (wet versions only) is $59 USD.
