Spitfire Audio has announced the release of North 7 Vintage Keys, a Kontakt Player instrument library featuring the sounds of four 60’s and 70’s vintage keyboard classics, played by Sean Hargreaves and recorded by Simon Changer.
PP027 – NORTH 7 VINTAGE KEYS sees Spitfire Audio placing a Fender Rhodes 73 Mk 1, Fender Rhodes piano bass, Hohner Clavinet, and Wurlitzer EP200A (a.k.a. ‘The Wurly’) in front of producer and session supremo Sean Hargreaves for faithful capture courtesy of North Seven Studios founder, fellow producer, and engineer extraordinaire Simon Changer’s collection of the finest fragments from the decimated London large-scale studio scene.
The resulting sample-based virtual instrument incorporates the SPITFIRE ELECTRIC PIANO (or ‘EP’), ELECTRIC CLAVINET (or ‘CLAV’), STAGE PIANO (a.k.a. ‘THE WURLY’), and ELECTRIC PIANO BASS (a.k.a. ‘FINGER BASS’), thoroughly tested by keyboard-playing professionals for the most realistic response. As an added ‘Spitfire’ twist to the signature sounds of those electric pianos, PP027 – NORTH 7 VINTAGE KEYS is presented in Spitfire Audio’s proprietary eDNA engine to warp those 20th Century sonic characteristics into the 21st.
