Audient has teamed up with leading cab simulation pioneers Two Notes Audio Engineering to present Sono, the ultimate valve audio interface for guitarists.
Combining Audient’s award-winning analogue and digital conversion recording technology with the world’s best DSP power amp modelling and cab simulation from Two Notes.
Sono features an onboard 12AX7 analogue valve and 3-band Tone control alongside – providing countless tonal options for guitarists, whether they’re recording, practicing or gigging.
Choose from a wide range of guitar and bass cab models based on classics such as the Marshall 4×12, Fender 2×12 or Ampeg Fridge, with more tones downloadable from two notes Torpedo Remote if needed.
You can also customize everything from the room type, microphone model and placement too, and once you’re happy with your sound, you can store your favorite presets on board Sono and play them in standalone mode at any time – without the need for a computer.
Sono has near zero-latency, and Monitor mix allows blending between the guitar input signal and DAW playback, ensuring delay-free recording, playback and monitoring.
Audient encourages Sono users to integrate their existing pedalboard.
Plug in your favorite distortion, reverb and delay pedals directly into Sono’s D.I, dial up a tone and instantly start recording or jamming without the need to mic up and play through a noisy amp (or annoy your neighbors).
But if you do want to record in the more traditional sense, Sono will always record a clean D.I signal to your DAW, so you can capture your performances and reamp through your favorite hardware amps later (using the dedicated re-amp output).
Alongside the guitar-centric features, Sono is also a powerful interface in its own right, with two Audient console mic pres for studio quality recordings, expandability up to 10 inputs via ADAT for recording drums, class leading converters as well as the unique ‘to valve’ feature.
With this button you can route vocal microphones or synths through the classic valve preamp, analogue EQ and two notes processing and start creating crazy new sounds or simply add classic analogue warmth to your recordings.
Sono will ship by the end of February 2019 at a retail price of 449 EUR ex. VAT.
