ProjectSAM has released another free Kontakt instrument library in the Free Orchestra series. Dystopian Drones features a set of dark, disturbing drones, taken from the “Dystopia” sections of Symphobia 1 and 2.
The sounds in this freebie were made by mangling and processing the original orchestral recordings into new, inspiring scapes.
TFO #8 once again features a dedicated Kontakt interface with a set of useful controls to tweak and process the Dystopian Drones even further, including a strong filter, Skreamer distortion, convolution reverb and limiter. The Free Orchestra does not come with a Kontakt Player license and therefore requires the full version of Kontakt. All Free Orchestra patches have been formatted for Kontakt 5.6.8.
Dystopian Drones comes with an open 44.1 kHz/24 bit sample pool. This means that you can directly access the wave files and use them on any platform that can handle wave files. Example are Ableton, Cubase, Pro Tools, FL Studio, HALion, Falcon – or your vintage hardware or Eurorack sampler.
Dystopian Drones is available for download for the full version of Kontakt.
Make sure to check the other instruments in The Free Orchestra Series as well: Power Strike, Bombastic Basses, Wild Winds, Heroic Horns, Sordino Violins and Tutti Hits.
