New Sonic Arts has released an update to the Freestyle VST host software.
Split, layer and combine your VST instruments and FX to explore vast new sound design possibilities. Freestyle integrates perfectly with your DAW, running as either a VST or AudioUnit plugin.

Changes in Freestyle v1.4003
- Structure View: keyboard navigation with arrow keys, plus Enter to enter Edit Mode, and Esc to exit.
- Edit Mode: internal plugins (Granite/Nuance/Vice etc) now automatically scale to fit to window.
- Edit Mode: Size selector for Granite/Nuance/Vice.
- Edit Mode: Added menu with access to file actions etc.
- Event Player (Piano Roll): now stretches to full width of window.
- Event Player: keyboard note highlighting when dragging notes etc.
- Event Player: can move notes with keyboard (use arrow keys plus alt/alt+shift/alt+ctrl).
- Event Player: added Octave shift options on context menu.
- Event Player: scrollwheel and keyboard improvements.
- Unified default save locations for New Sonic Arts plugins ([user documents]/New Sonic Arts/[Product name]) .
- Unified default save locations for VSTs ([user documents]/New Sonic Arts/[Company]/[Vst]).
- Acidized WAV files now automatically open in Vice.
- Improvements and optimisations to Instrument Freeze engine.
- Improved load logic, now loads to focused ‘track’.
- Fixed a bug with Macro names.
- Macros Invert button was dissapearing.
- Load load last session could not be disabled.
Two new features are available in beta mode as well (To enable the new Beta Features, click ‘Check for Beta Features’ in the Setup -> Info dialog):
- EditMode: New track bar, can drag and drop plugins and quickly navigate the chain (including cursor keys, and tab key).
- Snapshots: Compact snapshots view.
Freestyle is available for purchase for 129 EUR. It comes in VST and AU plugin formats and standalone software for Windows and Mac.
