After writing his book “The Secrets of House Music Production”, Marc Adamo is back with Tech House & Deep Minimal, a new sample library which — as the title suggests, is a collection of sounds geared towards tech house and deep minimal music.
For producers inspired by the music of Joris Voorn, Christian Smith, Dubfire, Slam, John Acquaviva, Claude Von Stroke, Radio Slave and Trentemoller, or labels such as Soma, Sci+tec, Rejected, ToolRoom, Great Stuff, PokerFlat, or BPitch – this collection is definitely one for you.
Packed to the brim with the latest sounds and created to generate some serious Dancefloor pressure, Tech House & Deep Minimal brings you 10 Huge Construction kits from one of the leading purveyors of UK underground dance music, covering Tech House, Deep House and the Progressive Minimal sound that is dominating current Dance music worldwide.
The construction kits generally consist of 10 to 20 loops, including bass, synth, percussion, beats, fx & top loops and various variations, so you can basically construct full tracks from these.
Besides the construction kits there are also bass, drum and synth loops folders, and a number of single shot samples and 9 corresponding sampler patches in various formats.
Tech House & Deep Minimal features
- 809MB total content (nearly 500 Wav samples and a little under 300 REX2 files).
- 10 construction kits: 184 Wav samples, 170 REX2 samples.
- 187 single sounds: 100 drum samples, 27 FX hits, 40 synth stabs, 25 glitches.
- 9 sampler patches for ESX24, HALion, Kontakt, NN-XT, and sfz.
- Additional loops in both formats: 21 Bass loops, 49 Drum loops, 50 Synth loops.
Note that this is the content of the downloadable “ZIP (main)” package. Apple Loops, Refill and Ableton Live versions are available as well.
So what do I think?

Tech House & Deep Minimal’s main focus seems to be on the construction kits. They do sound brilliantly produced, but if you are going to use these you’ll obviously run the risk of sounding just like the other guy who bought this sample library. That said, throw these loops in your mix and they will no doubt sound great.
The additional bass, drum and synth loops are similar to the ones in the construction kits (a few actually sound exactly the same), so you can easily drop in some of those samples for more variation. There’s quite a lot of original sounding material in the drum and synth loops.
The sampler patches simply map a folder of samples across the keyboard, which I don’t find very useful, but the single shot samples themselves are really good. The fx (rise, noise, etc) and synth stabs and chords are very inspiring. Maybe Marc should consider doing a sample library with single shot samples only.
Tech House & Deep Minimal is a high quality sample library providing fresh new loops and sounds for electronic music. The production quality is top notch and I can’t really find any fault with this library, except that the loops are generically named and do not have any information about which key they’re in.
