Following the recent Sitar Renaissance, SampleScience has announced the release of a virtual instrument made out of a restored audio recording of a zither.
The Zither Renaissance instrument features a multi-sampled zither with reverb, lowpass filter, and modulation effects.
A combination of audio engineering techniques has been used to make these sitar samples great: spectral repair, adaptative noise removal, and manual retuning.
The original recording has been provided by the kind folks at Versilian Studios. The result is a unique instrument that has a sound of its own, is easy to use, and will cut through your mixes.
Zither Renaissance is free to download for Windows and Mac in VST/VST3 and AU plugin formats. It is also available as a Decent Sampler/Kontakt 5/6 sample library. Donations are appreciated.
