xoxos has announced the release of Caprice, a spectral effect plug-in for Windows.
Caprice uses fourier transform analysis and resynthesis to make audio noisier by raising the volume of frequencies around existing peaks in the spectrum.
Variations and other simple functions were easy to add, so Caprice avails a selection of sixteen algorithms to the user.
A practical application of the primary algorithm is to ‘warm’ signals and add animation to them.
Caprice for Windows (VST) is available for $17 USD.
