Apollo Sound has released its new sample pack Nu Talkbox, a sample pack featuring 91 talkbox loops and 162 one shots recorded with classic talkbox Rocktron Banshee, Korg MS2000 synthesizer, and two microphones.
We want to present you the sample pack that completely differs from the usual ones. At least the instrument we sampled is quite rare in modern music. We want to change that and we are talking about Talkbox.
A talk box is an effects unit that allows musicians to modify the sound of a musical instrument by shaping the frequency content of the sound and to apply speech sounds (in the same way as singing) onto the sounds of the synthesizer, guitar etc. Typically, a talkbox directs sound from the instrument into the musician’s mouth by means of a plastic tube adjacent to their vocal microphone. The musician controls the modification of the instrument’s sound by changing the shape of the mouth, “vocalizing” the instrument’s output into a microphone.
We personally think that talkbox sounds way cooler than cloying autotune and even more the boring vocoder. Talkbox is much more diverse, interesting and harmonical. Shure is used by a number of singers for their live performances. Combined with AKG C414 and analogue preamp they added the rich sound and unusual hue to this collection. The pack consists of 255 AIFF/WAV dry loops and also 255 sliced REX2 loops, for you to change BPM of our loops with no quality loss. There are 57 sax riffs/one shots in this pack also. And to all that we mentioned above we also give you 255 full ready drag-n-drop wet sax WAV loops that we processed through the classic hardware reverb unit Lexicon LXP-15II.
