Avid has announced it has teamed up with the world’s largest music retailer Guitar Center to host a demo of the industry-standard digital audio workstation Avid Pro Tools at Guitar Center Times Square on October 29th, 2015.
Larry Crane, editor of Tape Op Magazine, will demonstrate how to record, edit and mix in Pro Tools using a pre-produced mix and Pro Tools plug-ins.
Since starting his music industry career in the late 1970s, Crane has worked as a record label owner, radio station music director, DJ, record distributor salesman, freelance music journalist and bass player. He’s also moderated and spoken on panels about recording for SXSW, NXNW, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the Audio Engineering Society, CMJ, and TapeOpCon.
Pro Tools is the industry-standard audio workstation that redefined post production and music recording. Now, Pro Tools | First is helping aspiring artists quickly turn ideas into professional-sounding songs by recording, using software instruments, and applying audio effects, at no cost. To expand their creative toolset further, the integrated Avid App Store provides a world of affordable AAX plug-ins and “First” bundles on the Avid Marketplace that make creating, shaping, and enhancing sounds quick and easy.
The event will take place on Thursday, October 29th, at 6pm EST, at Guitar Center Times Square (25 W 14th Street, Manhattan, New York 10011).
