Blue Cat Audio has released a brand new free plugin and application that can receive audio and MIDI from the network.

The previously announced Freeceiver is a free network audio plugin and application that can receive both audio and MIDI signals sent over a network by the Connector plugin and the recently released Fader Hub software.

It operates on one or several computers, thru a local area network or thru the Internet for remote communication, making it the perfect tool to share musical content in real time with others, without the need for extra licenses.

Freeceiver features

  • Free Network Audio and MIDI client application and plugin (available in VST, VST3, AAX or Audio Unit formats).
  • Fully compatible with Blue Cat’s Fader Hub and Connector.
  • Receives both audio and MIDI from the network or on a local machine.
  • Minimal latency, with full control over buffering.
  • Supports multiple sampling rates on a single connection (built-in resampling).
  • Built-in drift compensation.
  • UPnP support for automatic Internet router configuration.

Freeceiver is available to download for free individually or as part of the Freeware Pack bundle, which also includes Blue Cat’s Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, FreqAnalyst, Gain Suite, Triple EQ and Free Amp.

Additionally, all plugins in the bundle have been updated to fix GUI performance issues on MacOS 14 (Sonoma).
