BOOM Library has announced the release of its new Seasons of Earth series sound library Summer, which continues BOOM Library’s tradition of providing unmatched 3D audio of pristine recordings uninterrupted by the sounds of humans.
Hundreds of hours were recorded and sorted to present this exhaustive set of the summer season’s most interesting and iconic sounds.
Nature recordist and Seasons of Earth – Summer project lead, Matthew Mikkelson, continues his epic sonic jaunt through the seasons with this library of summer sounds. He’s scoped out the perfect places across North America, from Arizona and Colorado to Kansas and Montana, to make pristine 3D recordings, using a Schoeps ORTF rig, of the beautiful natural environments that enrichen the world.
“Summer for me is when the bird activity really calms down and the insect activity really picks up,” Matthew describes the sounds of the library. “You get a lot more larger flying insects like bees and flies and more wind too. The wind picks up – at least in a lot of these places in the United States and North America – the afternoon summer wind really picks up once everything heats up.”
The collection of perfectly balanced recordings of the summer world includes 88 ambiences making up more than 76 GB (16+ GB for the stereo and 60+ GB for the surround) of total summer-time immersion.
The regular price for the 3D Surround version is $359 USD / 299 EUR and the stereo only version costs $119 USD / 99 EUR. An introductory 20% discount is offered until April 14th, 2022.
