Isotonik Studios has announced a free looping device for Max for Live.

Maze by NOISS COKO is inspired by the Time Lag Accumulator system developed by electronic music composer Terry Riley.

Known as one of the earliest live recording techniques, it is constructed around a short tape loop and two reel to reel tape machines. The first records the sound while the other plays it back shortly after, thus creating an endless feedback loop.

The same approach was also adopted by many other musicians throughout the years, with Brian Eno and Robert Fripp probably being one of the most popular examples of all.

You can grab this free device for Ableton Live 10.1.4 and Max for Live 8.1.0 at Isotonik Studios, and the download includes a discount voucher for the Repeat Pro and Sempler Pro devices.

SampleScience has announced that its recent drum sample pack Hybrid Drum Design is now free to download from the SampleScience website.

Around 6 months ago I launched a sample pack website called “StellarSamples”. I was never comfortable with the name and eventually canceled the project. One of the remains of this project is Hybrid Drum Design, a collection of drum samples that mixes electronic and acoustic sounds to create powerful drums!

Today, I decided to release it for free so you can enjoy this sample pack if you didn’t have the chance to do so when it was available.

The pack includes 55 electro-acoustic one-shot drum samples produced by fusing acoustic sounds with synth drums.
