The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP) has celebrated the building of its new studio facility and the successful launch of the Creative Music Production courses with a launch party last Thursday.
During the event over 20 industry guests, partners and journalists came to view the studio, learn more about ICMP’s partnership with Alchemea College and hear from Gary Katz, patron of the Production courses. The beer and bubbles flowed freely, and a great time was had by all!
Mike Sinnot-Facilities Manager at ICMP and former Director of Alchemea College said:
‘It is so great to see Alchemea college continue to live on through ICMP. Not only did the 2 institutions share the same ethos in providing small, personalized learning experiences for students we also have many of the Alchemea team joining us at ICMP. Students who choose to study Music Production at ICMP really are getting the best of both worlds. I’ve been working on the studio build for 12 months and it still takes my breath away every time I come in here, the students are so lucky!”
The studio build was a 12-month project, managed by Slowglass studio build. ICMP has worked closely with their partners to provide students with the very best equipment as they begin their careers in production at ICMP. ICMP were the first customer to receive Audients’ latest ASP 8024 large format console. This was configured with 2 producer panels in order to mount Avid’s S3 Digital control surface. Classic outboard = UAD 6176 Vintage Channel Strip and Lexicon PCM 92 FX processor. DAW software – Pro Tools, Logic Pro X & Ableton Live & Autotune Studio.
ICMP has a burgeoning relationship with UAD and have installed a UAD Octo Card with the Ultimate bundle giving the students access to a plethora of software emulated classic studio outboard. In addition to the desk the main production room is kitted out with 2 x Moof Mother 32 Analogue synths, Novation Bass Station – also analogue synths. Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol, Arturia V Collection in all production rooms and in tech suites. Additionally, Ableton push is available in all production rooms and in tech suite along with a load of Novation products.
ICMP has invested nearly 250,000 in facilities in the last 12 months, a large percentage of this investment was made to provide world class facilities for ICMP students. The ICMP would like to thank the friends, partners and students of ICMP and Alchemea who have supported both institutions throughout the years.
