Splice has launched a new Splice Sessions series sample pack: Afro Dancehall with Iss 814.
The sample pack comprises 300 loops and one shots by music producer Ismaila aka Iss 814, including guitar, synth, drums and percussion, vocals, and more.
Afro Dancehall is more than a genre of music. To borrow words from OkayAfrica.com, it’s “the ongoing musical conversations between West Africa, Jamaica, and the Caribbean.” Each West African country and cultural community has its own approach to the musical style, making it increasingly dynamic and ever-evolving.
Led by producer, Iss 814, this pack explores the Senegalese take on the genre, incorporating the rhythms and instruments of the country including the ngoni, kora, talking drum (tama), and balafon. It also borrows from the sounds of its neighboring countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, and more.
Splice subscribers can download the sounds today.
