Source Audio has updated its Neuro Mobile App to include seven new overdrive and delay effect engines as well as some exciting new control features.
New effect engines include an overdrive inspired by the iconic and highly sought-after, Klon Centaur – this overdrive (named “The Klone”) is available for the L.A. Lady Overdrive, Kingmaker Fuzz, and AfterShock Bass Distortion. Another new effect – available for the Nemesis Delay – is an extremely realistic model of a Binson Echorec, the classic magnetic drum, multi-head delay machine.
“We created our One Series Pedals with the plan to make them better and better even after the customer makes the original purchase,” said Source Audio President, Roger Smith. “With the release of the Neuro Remote App 2.0 and seven entirely new Effect Engines for the Nemesis and our One Series Distortion pedals, existing and new customers are getting a dramatic enhancement to the feature set of their pedals without leaving their homes or spending any additional money.”
The Neuro App is a free download for both iOS and Android devices and is compatible with all Source Audio One Series pedals. The One Series line of stereo and MIDI controllable effect pedals currently includes the L.A. Lady Overdrive, Kingmaker Fuzz, AfterShock Bass Distortion, Nemesis Delay, Vertigo Tremolo, Lunar Phaser, and more. Out of the box, each pedal works like a classic plug-and-play stompbox, but connecting them to the Neuro App unlocks an added level of powerful features. The App includes a far-reaching library of free effect engines. Users can select an effect engine and make additional tweaks with the App’s intuitive and in-depth editing interface. Users can then download the customized effect directly to the pedal, where it is stored and easily engaged without reconnecting to the App.
In addition to the Klon and Binson inspired engines the Neuro Mobile App update includes engines based on modified versions of the Fuzz Face (“Pepperface Fuzz”), Tube Screamer (“Vari-Screamer”), and Big Muff (Germanium Muffin”). There is also a single head version of Binson Echorec engine that maintains the atmospheric repeats of the Binson without the varying rhythmic patterns.
Each pedal in the One Series line features its own editing interface in the Neuro Mobile App – Neuro editing parameters include four band parametric EQs, complex stereo and signal routing options, overall output level, mix controls, programmable modulation or delay Beats Per Measure (BPM) rates, and much more. Updates to the App’s editing interface include improved frequency (Hz) monitoring for each pedal’s 4-band parametric EQ and more intuitive tap tempo and beat division readouts for the Nemesis Delay.
The Neuro Mobile App connects to the pedal with a 1/8″ to 1/4″ cable running from the headphone jack of the device to Input 2 of the One Series pedal. Once an effect has been selected from the Neuro library of effects, it can be burned (with or without additional edits) directly to any of the toggle switch or effect selector positions on the pedal. It can also be saved as a pedal preset or in one of the 128 MIDI accessible preset slots. In addition, users can create a personal Neuro profile where presets can be saved for personal use or published and made available to the entire Neuro community.
The Neuro Mobile App is a free download for iOS and Android devices.
