Plughugger has announced the release of Dr Bob, a sound expansion of 100 new sounds for the Spectrasonics Trilian virtual bass instrument, aimed for modern dance music.
Dr Bob is modern take on the Moog legacy. From the original Minimoog and Taurus pedals to modern models such as the Little Phatty, Spectrasonics Trilian offers a wealth of sampled Moog models.
With this soundset we set out to push the sound of Moog in new directions. Not only is this an expansion with bass sounds, but also contains sounds seldom heard from a Moog: mellow synth plucks, lush pads, inspirational arpeggios and old-school stabs(!).
As a bonus, Dr Bob comes bundled with the additional soundset Fat Bastard.
Fat Bastard is a collection of 50 presets based on the experimental and weird waveforms from the Metasonix Assblaster, and works well as a counterweight to the polished and well-behaved Moog waveforms.
A bit of a warning though. These sounds are a bit all over the place and are not as “sophisticated” as the sounds in the Dr Bob soundset.
The Dr Bob library is available to purchase for the introductory price of 9.90 EUR until February 16th, 2014 (regular 14.90 EUR).
