Jon Meyer has announced the release of a new Kontakt instrument library which offers a modern take on the classic felt piano sound.
Postfelt goes beyond traditional piano sounds by offering 8 layers of sonic explorations.
Last spring I retired The Meyer Felt piano and set out to completely re-sample my treasured Kawai Upright piano with greater dynamics and realism. I included a Pure, non-felted microphone signal to blend with the traditional felt sound for greater sonic flexibility. The Layers section benefits from the addition of pitch, reverse, detune and plucked layers.
The expansive palette of PostFelt includes a wide range of effects such as reverbs, delays, chorus, pitch modulation, tape effects, and a layer of piano strings plucked with a guitar pick for subtle to aggressive attack.
PostFelt for the full version of Kontakt 6.7.1 or higher is on sale for the intro price of $39 USD for a limited time (regular $59 USD). The Meyer Felt owners can upgrade for free in their Pulse account.
