Puremagnetik has announced a venture into hardware development, bringing its software plugins out of the digital realm and into the physical world.
With the launch of the LAPS versatile multitrack collage machine, Puremagnetik connects the flexibility of its tools with the immediacy of hands-on sound production.
LAPS is a compact multitrack machine designed for layering soundscapes, crafting tape-style overdubs, and creating intricate sonic collages. Ideal for everything from glitchy loops to expansive, multi-layered recordings, LAPS offers a trove of creative possibilities.
LAPS features
- 3 tracks (Laps) with up to 20 seconds of stereo recording each at 24-bit/48kHz.
- Two modes: Replica (mirrored layers for melodic shifts) and Multiply (endless layering without erasing).
- Stepped pitch shifting, band-pass filters, granular effects, and a tape-style “Age” effect.
- Stereo in/out with on-board panning, true bypass, and high-quality A/D/A converters.
Priced $350 USD the initial pre-order of LAPS sold out. Customers can sign up to be notified when LAPS are back in stock, anticipated for mid-December.
