Steve Bates has launched sample78, a collection of free instruments for Kontakt.
sample78 is me, blaster78, Steve Bates. At a loose end for month or so between jobs i’ve decided to make some of my many, accumulated samples available as freebie instruments for Native Instruments Kontakt.
All of the samples are mine (unless otherwise stated) so feel free to use them in any way you like.
Sample78 instruments include:
- Grain Pad, a fuzzy granular type instrument with 2 layers, both sampled from a DSI TETR4. Controls are made available for delay send amount, delay feedback, filter cutoff frequency and filter resonance.
- Robot Pad, a very small instrument with just a single sample, from a Waldorf Microwave II. Fuzzy bitcrushed wavetable goodness with a space invader ! Controls are made available for lofi-ness, delay send amount, filter modularion amount and filter modulation speed.
- Gongs, a very nice gong instrument. based on some superb samples from KVR’s Genetic Junk that he kindly made available under the Creative Commons license. Controls are made available for humanized timing, reverb and “magic pan” speed and amount.
- Rainbow Pad, a lush pad based on samples from the Ensoniq VFX-SD and DSI TETR4, with some fx courtesy of the Ensoniq DP/4. Controls are made available for the “Majestic” layer, level controls for “low” and “fizzle” and also more basic attack and reverb levels.
