Sampleson has announced the release of Electrix BPB Edition, an upgraded version of the Electrix freeware electric piano instrument.
The functionality is pretty much the same as in the original, apart from the new stereo tremolo effect with adjustable frequency. This type of effect is often used to make an electric piano sound wider and more mellow. The user interface also remained unchanged for the most part, except for the shiny BPB logo in the lower-right corner. Thanks for that, Sampleson! :)
If you already own and enjoy using the old version of Electrix, chances are you’ll want to upgrade to Electrix BPB Edition as the tremolo is a nice addition to the feature set. To those unfamiliar with Electrix, it is a virtual piano instrument based on the Hohner Electra Piano T which was used in various famous songs by Led Zeppelin. Sampleson built the instrument from scratch without using samples, resulting in a very playable and dynamic virtual piano. It sounds noticeably different at low and high velocities, allowing for expressive playing.
Electrix BPB Edition for Windows and Mac (VST/AU/Standalone) is available as a free download. Donations are welcome.
