sonicLAB has announced an update to its Cosmosƒ Saturn dynamic stochastic synthesizer instruments.
Cosmosƒ is a real-time dynamic stochastic synthesis engine, which does generate complex sonic textures with various event distribution processes. Discrete sonic events of certain density are distributed in a time space with their onset time and duration parameter calculated with stochastic /deterministic functions. Each macro event defines the duration of a meso space, and the sub events are distributed inside it. The event distribution engine of Cosmosƒ is a hierarchical embodiment of multiple time scales.
Changes in Cosmosƒ Saturn 8/8S
- Vertical polyphony arrangement for the micro events; up to 3 phase locked events can be synchronized to augment the vertical density and this can be randomly changed as well
- New Binomial distribution function for meso and micro event density management.
- A revised DSP engine and less memory consumption.
- OSX Catalina compatibility. Cosmosƒ Saturn8/8S is notarized for MacOS Catalina.
Cosmosƒ Saturn is available in VST3 and AU 64 bit formats, and standalone software for Windows and Mac. Note that starting with this update all sonicLAB licensing mechanism will be delivered through the PACE/iLOK authorization.
Cosmosƒ Saturn 8 is available for 149 EUR; the 8S version (with ambisonic surround sound) is 199 EUR. Bundle pricing for both products is available as well. Cosmosƒ Saturn 7/7S users can upgrade for 29 EUR.
