Spitfire Audio has launched its latest LABS series virtual instrument library: Textural Pads.
Inspired by sci-fi soundtracks during lockdown, Spitfire Audio developer Mark Summerell sampled a selection of instruments at his home studio — bowed and scratched bass guitar, kalimba, cello and vocals.
Combining these recordings with synths from developer Harnek Mudhar, he used bespoke granular effects to transform these sounds into otherworldly textures.
The instrument is a free download for the Spirfire Audio App, which is also free and available in VST
