Splice has released some new titles in the Splice Originals series of sound packs.
Lofi Future is a hybrid pack designed by producer, composer, and sound designer Ben Bromley, including 75 presets for Splice’s Astra synthesizer.
Ben explored Astra’s possibilities for soulful, forward-leaning lo-fi across 30+ multi-layered compositions, stemmed-out with MIDI and individual audio loops for you to use as song-starters, inspiration, or flipped as you see fit.
The presets cover a range of pitch-warped synths, vintage keys, Avant basses, plucks, mallets, and pads that utilize Astra’s extensive sampling, FM, and analog-modeling capabilities with pre-mapped macros for immediate play. A collection of one-shot chords, phrases, arps, and individual notes made using the presets are also included. These sounds were used to build a complimentary set of 10 resampled compositions, inspiring a doorway for immediate resampling and manipulation right in your sampler or DAW.
Drawing inspiration from the likes of J Balvin, Drake, Major Lazer, and Bad Bunny, Tropica Noir explores the darker side of pop and trap melodies combined with tropical and Latin rhythms and instruments. It includes everything from underwater vocals to aggressive club leads.
This pack was created to inject the lively, energetic stylings of Latin and Caribbean genres like cumbia and dance hall into trap and hip hop productions. It utilizes winding sound design and mesmerizing synths with live trumpets, 808s, guitars, a DW drum kit, a Yamaha C7 grand piano, and a large variety of percussion from trap snares to conga and dunbek.
Like a John Carpenter soundtrack on steroids, Night Zone packs in the retro-futurist sounds of synthwave. Expect pulsing synths that glow, arpeggiated basslines that rumble, and reverberated drums that shake the room.
Sam O.B. returns with his fourth Splice Originals release to fuse a collection of analog and digital synthesizers and drum machines into a singular vision. Using a keen sense of harmony and rhythm, he’s able to use these robotic sources to create sounds that conjure warm and powerful human emotions. If you’re looking to make music to soundtrack your next nighttime drive through a metropolitan landscape, NIGHT ZONE will deliver everything you need.
Other recent Splice Originals packs include Brooklyn Breaks, Voodoo Southern Trap, Break Tapes with Sean Hutchinson, Future Soul feat. Brandyn Burnette, Antidote by Erick Bardales, and Sticks n’ Stones.
The new sound packs are available to Splice Sounds subscribers.
