Splice Sounds has released Photek Sample Pack Vol. 1, a collection of 135 loops and samples by drum and bass legend Photek.

From creating remixes for the likes of David Bowie and Björk, to releasing tracks on Goldie’s legendary Metalheadz label and composing scores for “Blade,” and “How to Get Away With Murder,” Photek has done it all in the world of music production.

Photek wants you to “take these samples to the next level and do something really creative.”

Photek is a composer who truly needs no introduction, but we’ll give him one anyway. He’s been active and relevant for two decades – an impressive feat for any musician, but especially impressive in the world of electronic music. From early releases on Goldie’s legendary Metalheadz label, to remixes for David Bowie and Bjork, to scoring films like Blade, to composing for How to Get Away With Murder, Photek has done it all in the world of music production.

A word on this pack from the man himself: “The audio files range from whole musical phrases & long textures, to original breaks, drum fills & one shot kits. I’ve created stuff that I would personally use – sounds that I would be excited to find back in the day. I’d like to see producers take these samples to the next level and do something really creative.”

The Photek sample pack is now available to Splice subscribers.
