Sub51 has announced version 1.5 of Satur809, an update to the sample llbrary which includes several enhancements plus compatibility with Logic Pro’s EXS24 sampler.

Presented as a fully-functional, velocity layered Kontakt Instrument with access to Compression, Limiter, Reverb, Lo-fi, Delay and Phaser, this package is based on meticulously recorded samples recorded using original TR808 and 909 machines. In addition to the pristine ‘clean’ samples, there are also alternatives treated to both light and more assertive doses of tape compression via a Studer A80 providing plenty of tonal variety.

Satur809 V1.5 includes several new features such as global volume, pan, tune and tone controls. Drum voice control has also been enhanced with independent parameters per sound for volume and pan added to the existing tune feature. NI Kontakt users will notice some interface changes which include a new master section and effects page. The included Satur809 sample loops are tempo-synced (not EXS24), looped and treated with medium and heavy saturation. In addition, Host and MIDI automation parameters are predefined.

For users of NI’s Komplete Kontrol, there is also the option to load and control Satur809 via clearly-defined, pre-mapped files which also include instrument tagging information. Furthermore, Sub51 has worked closely with the blind community to ensure Accessibility Mode aids navigation of Satur809 while simplifying workflow.

The royalty free library contains:

  • 12 Kontakt instruments incl. 808 and 909 clean, medium, heavy saturation and Loops.
  • 12 Komplete Kontrol pre-mapped files.
  • 12 EXS24 instruments Inc. 808 and 909 clean, medium, heavy saturation and Loops.
  • 50 MIDI files.
  • 75 Apple loops.

Satur809 is currently on sale for £11.25 GBP (regular £15 GBP). Existing users can contact Sub51 for upgrade options. The library requires the full version of Kontakt 5.7.0 or higher.
