Tone2 Audio has announced an update to the Windows version of its Icarus virtual synthesizer instrument.
Version 2.0.6 of Icarus 2 adds VST3 plugin support. Users can now select from 3 different installation types: Minimal (VST2 only), Default (VST2 + Standalone) and Full (VST2 + VST3 + Standalone).
Many printed magazines are convinced that Icarus is an epic synthesizer and a must-have for producers. This workstation is one of the most full-featured, versatile and mighty synthesizers ever. Icarus2 offers 54 different synthesis methods and provides a gigantic sonic range.
The update also features a smarter detection of the VST2 path, faster closing of projects, and minor enhancements for the standalone version. Note that 32-bit support for the synth has been dropped.
Icarus2 for Windows and Mac is priced 149 EUR / $169 USD. The update is free for existing users.
