AudioThing has announced updates to the Type A and Type B audio effect plugins for Windows and Mac.

Type A is inspired by a famous vintage tape encoder designed to be a noise reduction system for tape recording (encode stage) and playback (decode stage). The Type B plugin is inspired by the Aphex Aural Exciter effect, which was designed to add presence and brightness to vocal or instrument tracks.

Version 1.2.1 of Type A and version 1.0.2 of Type B now support macOS 11 Big Sur (Universal 2 Binary). A Light and Dark UI mode has been added, as well as an option to enable accelerated GUI.

The update to Type A also fixes a random crash when loading a saved project in Logic Pro, and Type B now features an option to invert the Bypass LED colors and internal support for left-hand mouse users. It also fixes a minor graphic glitch.

Available in VST/VST3, AU and AAX formats, the plugins are priced 59 EUR each at AudioThing and Plugin Boutique.

The update is free to owners of the plugins.
