United Plugins has announced the release of a new spectral inertia plugin by JMG Sound, designed to create freeze effects.
Cryostasis features various controls to change the sound of the freeze effect, including a pitch shifter for a tape-stop style effect, frequency shifter for creating dissonant risers and downshifters, a wash control that diffuses the freeze effect into a lush and smooth modulated reverb tail for creating spaced-out ambience and soundscapes, and bit and rate reducers to add some lofi magic to the sound.
Cryostasis is a spectral inertia effect that can progressively smear your audio until infinitely frozen in time. It features spectral FX and controls to shape the character of the frozen tail. All are controlled by a continuously variable freeze knob or an auto switch that can be timed in milliseconds or musical measures (double-click).
Cryostasis for Windows and Mac (VST/VST3, AU and AAX) is available to purchase for a time-limited introductory price of 19 EUR (regular 79 EUR).
