Wavesfactory has released Old Tape Piano, a sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt.
Always wanted to sample a grand piano, but what’s the point? The market is oversaturated of piano libraries, and making another one is pointless unless you make it differently. We sampled a grand piano in mono using a low quality cassette recorder. When I say “low quality” I mean “very low quality”. Unlike other libraries availabe, the piano used was new and tuned, just the recorder was old.
Old Tape Piano features
- Grand Piano, 88 keys, recorded directly into cassette tape.
- Mono WAV files 44.1 kHz 24 bits, 861 Mb installed.
- Recorded in mono with 8 velocity layers.
- Flutter, natural saturation and compression.
- Noise reduction applied, noise file attached.
- Full version of Kontakt 3.5 or superior required. Kontakt Player will run in demo mode.
