Xenos Soundworks has announced a new soundset for Cherry Audio’s GX-80 software synthesizer, a virtual instrument that combines the sound and features of the CS-80 and GX-1 synthesizers from Yamaha.
Cinematic 80s contains over 80 fresh presets, including pads, keys and polysynths, basses, leads, plucks, bells & mallets, and more.
Of the Cherry Audio banks we’ve created, this is our current favorite. ‘Cinematic 80s’ contains 86 presets for GX-80 with a strong retro-futurist, “cyberpunk” feel. The “Dual” mode was used extensively to create interesting layered textures and tones such as sinister soundscapes, fat basses, exotic keys and synths, etc. We’ve also provided modwheel, aftertouch and velocity assignments for expressive live playing.
