Impact Soundworks launches Academic Program

Impact Soundworks

Impact Soundworks has announced a new academic discount program for students, teachers, and institutions at the K12 and collegiate levels, offering discounts starting at 25% for all products.

Impact Soundworks offers a vast catalog of unique, detailed sampled instruments to select from. These samples include electric guitars, world instruments, custom & found sounds, percussive kits and much more. All products qualify for the academic discount, including newly released libraries such as the critically acclaimed Juggernaut: Cinematic Electronic Scoring Tools.

Impact Soundworks was founded in 2007 by composers Andrew Aversa and Will Roget, II with the goal of creating innovative, affordable and unique sample libraries “designed with composers in mind.” The company’s sounds have been used by thousands of composers around the world in film, television, video game and other music productions.

“Looking out for the composers of tomorrow and their teachers is extremely important. Especially in harder economic times, we’re interested in making sure newcomers get access to the latest tools,” said Andrew Aversa, cofounder of Impact Soundworks. “This way, students can work with the same tools thousands of professionals are using and get an edge in this highly competitive industry.”

Students and teachers can qualify for the academic discount by providing a dated photo ID, while virtually any teaching institution qualifies by default for bulk license rates up to 75% off MSRP for multiuser licenses (e.g. computer labs).

The academic program is open now in all countries.

Impact Soundworks has announced the release of Juggernaut: Cinematic Electronic Scoring Tools, a comprehensive collection of synthesized percussion, basses, and FX for Native Instruments Kontakt and Kontakt Player.

With sounds from a team of top designers, including Mick Gordon, Erik Ekholm, and Jordan Fehr, this cinematic toolbox was custom-built for hybrid scoring, EDM, and musical sound design.

Each highly-polished sound was crafted from scratch by the design team without the use of drum machines.

Impact Soundworks was founded in 2007 by composers Andrew Aversa and Will Roget, II with the goal of creating innovative, affordable and unique sample libraries “designed with composers in mind.” Its critically acclaimed catalog of instruments has been used by thousands of composers around the world in film, television, video game and other music productions.

“Modern soundtracks, trailers and music productions use more electronic elements than ever,” said Aversa, lead designer of the library. “Our goal with Juggernaut was to create an arsenal of bleeding-edge, pure electronic sounds that are ideal for scoring work, whether layered with acoustic and orchestral elements, or solo in a mix.”

In addition to the Drum/FX patch, a powerful Bass Patch is included with Juggernaut. This patch includes a subtractive-style synth engine with filter/amp envelopes, over 50 distinct bass waveforms, and a 16-step rhythmic gater/retrigger sequencer along with time-synced options for filtering and modwheel control. Impact Soundworks releases Forest Frame Drums for Kontakt

Impact Soundworks Forest Frame Drums

Impact Soundworks has announced the release of Forest Frame Drums, a new collection of authentic sampled hand percussion for the Kontakt platform.

The library features three traditional hand-crafted instruments from the Ojibway tribe with meticulous depth, playability, and an intimate sound with natural ambience.

The three drums recorded for the library include the Forest Drum, a well-rounded sound with a bright reverb tail on loud hits, the Deep Drum, an earthier, lower-pitched instrument ideal for bass accompaniment, and the Small Drum, with a higher pitch and straightforward playing style. In total, nearly 40 articulations were recorded between all three drums, with extremely detailed sampling (up to 15x RR variations / 6x dynamic layers).

“With this library, we wanted to capture the sound of the frame drum in a more traditional style and natural setting,” said Aversa, lead designer of the library. “You can still create an epic sound with these drums, but you can also write very intimate and emotional pieces at a softer dynamic.”

In addition to over 2,000 WAV-format samples, Forest Frame Drums includes three advanced patches for Kontakt 4+ sporting a beautiful custom interface and script. Composers can easily adjust tone, reverb ambience, stereo width, and other parameters with a single click, or set up and customize ensemble playing with the unique ensemble builder.

The Forest Frame Drums library is available to purchase for $49 USD.
