XILS-lab has announced the polyKB, a recreation of a very rare, very powerful polyphonic synthesizer released in the 80’s by a french company.

The polyKB is a polyphonic substractive synthesizer based on two waveform morphing, aliasing free oscillators and a self oscilating 4 poles low pass filter.

One of its features, never heard on other analog synthesizers, was the continuously modulated waveform, sort of a modulated waveform morphing. Recreating this feature in the digital domain, without aliasing was a very big challenge.

• one 4 poles low pass self oscillating filter.
• two envelope generators (ADSR).
• two MIDI synced LFO.
• one MIDI synced Sample and Hold.
• one 128 steps polyphonic sequencer.

• chorus and delay effects.
• mono/unison/poly playing mode with up to 16 voices of polyphony.
• all parameters are MIDI controllable.

The polyKB will be available soon as an instrument plug-in for PC and Mac (VST/AU/RTAS).

audioMIDI.com has announced a new No-Brainer Deal: XILS 3LE, a limited features version of the XILS 3 virtual synthesizer plug-in for Windows and Mac.

The No-Brainer version is a limited features version of the XILS 3 which doesn’t bring all the new modules and modulations possibilities of the recent 1.1.0 and it won’t be updated with the incoming new versions (we plan new filter, new preset managements, new GUI, …).

XILS 3LE features

• One 2/4 poles low pass filter (a 3 pole self-oscillating mode is also planned).
• One envelope, based on two different designs, trapezoid and ADSR.

XILS 3LE is available to purchase for PC and Mac (VST/AU/RTAS) for $20 USD. A special upgrade price will be launched in the following weeks for all the no-brainer customers: Full version and all its further updates will be available for 69 EUR ($99 USD).

Note: The copy protection is a serial number, but the installer will install an iLok extension. This is because XILS 3 makes use of a “soft” iLok license, but you do not need a physical iLok key to install and use XILS 3LE. This will not effect existing iLok devices or associated software.

XILS-lab has released version 1.1.1 of XILS 3, a virtual instrument based on the of the architecture of a classic matrix based modular synthesizer.

The iLok version of the XILS 3 is now available for downloading with version 1.1.1

Mac or PC, VST, Audio Unit or RTAS, you can now choose the protection which fits the best with your system, eLicenser or iLok.

Changes in XILS 3 v1.1.1

• iLok version available for the XILS 3.
• New option : oscillator tuning displayed as frequency.
• Bug fix : main envelope was trigged when a preset was launched.

The update is available for download free of charge for all XILS 3 owners.

XILS-lab has released version 1.1.0 of XILS 3, a virtual instrument based on the of the architecture of a classic matrix based modular synthesizer.

Changes in XILS 3 v1.1.0

• New modules: Two envelopes, 1 MIDI synced LFO, 1 MIDI synced S&H, 1 Voltage Processor (for increasing the modulation shapes).
• New sources and destinations for the matrix: A menu allows a wide range of destinations or sources, without increasing to much the matrix size.
• Matrix Pins: 4 different colors for four different amounts and new sort of pin for inverting the signal.
• New sequencer features: mouse editing, three independant sustain times, …
• New presets.

This update is available for download free of charge for all XILS 3 owners.

XILS-lab has announced the release of a dongle free, limited features demo version of XILS 3, a virtual instrument based on the of the architecture of a classic matrix based modular synthesizer.

This version outputs silence periodically (every 3-4 seconds) and limits the following features:

• No preset or project saving.
• No bank import or export.
• No automation.
• Features the 1.0.2 version of the XILS 3 and won’t be updated.
• No time limit.
• No dongle or serial number required!

The XILS 3 demo is available for download for Windows PC and Mac.
Note: A full features time limited demo version is available for eLicenser owners.
