AudioThing has announced the release of an audio plugin that comes straight from the heart of Jamaica’s most prolific music community, Waterhouse in Kingston.
The Alborosie Dub Station delivers a recreation of the MCI 2 track tape that was used to record and create the echo effect for most of the reggae classics overall and popular Tubby’s instrumental dub mixes.
It also features the spring reverb from King Tubby’s studio, and a filter modeled after the “Big Knob” passive high-pass filter with eleven frequency steps.
We sampled, analyzed, and carefully recreated the original filter, echos, and spring reverb pre-owned, modified, and used by the legendary Osbourne Ruddock “King Tubby” – producer, studio engineer, and pioneer of dub reggae from the golden era of the 70s – from Alborosie’s personal vintage gear collection.
Available in VST/VST3, AU and AAX formats, the zero latency plugin is designed to be easy on the CPU. It has a resizable interface and a preset manager with randomize option.
Alborosie Dub Station is on sale at AudioThing and Plugin Boutique for the intro price of $79 USD / 79 EUR until February 28th (regular 129 USD/EUR).
Owners of Outer Space and Springs can get an additional discount.
