Soundiron has announced the release of version 2.0 of Dhol Drum, a dhol Indian percussion library for Native Instruments Kontakt.
Originally released as “Solo Dhol” back in 2010 by Tonehammer, we’ve now completely redesigned and upgraded the library with a wealth of new features and added bonus content.
The new Dhol Drum library contains 5,147 samples and over 110 distinct articulations, played with sticks, mallets, brushes, hands, fingers, palms and more, all studio recorded in extraordinary detail and wide stereo, with up to 14 velocity layers and 10 round robin variants per note.
We also recorded an extensive range of ultra-deep bass bends (the classic “dooop” sound), often heard in classic tabla playing.
It all comes wrapped in our Megamixer, Dual-Layer Tuned Percussion and classic Ensemble presets. Every preset comes with full performance control, smart arpeggiation/EZ-roll generation, rack multi-FX and a bonus collection of sustaining atmospheres crafted from the original source recordings.
Dhol Drum v2.0 is available for purchase for the introductory price of $39 USD until September 3rd, 2014 (regular $59 USD). Requires full version of Kontakt 5.1 or later. Owners of the original v1.0 will be receiving an email in the next week with all the info on the upgrade to version 2.0.
