Audiolatry has announced an update of its free virtual instrument plugin featuring a sampled Yamaha C5 grand piano. The update comes with a brand-new graphical user interface and some new effects and features to further customize the sound.
With the inclusion of reverb, chorus, delay, and tremolo, Grand Piano now offers an extensive toolkit to add depth, warmth, and character to any piano composition.
The original samples (Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license) were recorded by Alexander Holm with two AKG c414 condenser microphones placed in an AB position at around 12 centimeters above the strings. He captured both the piano sound and keys release noises as separate multi-samples. All the samples were captured in 48kHz 24bit audio quality.
Grand Piano for Windows and macOS is free to download in VST/VST3 and AU plugin formats.
