We stayed true to the sound by using a Dbx 165a compressor, Chandler preamps, level loc, 60’s vintage Ludwig blue sparkle drum kit with Supraphonic snare and Zildjian and Paiste cymbals.
We also used Vintage 421, MD441, D190 and Shure mics recorded in a semi-treated room so lively and vibey with the correct mic positions for that sound!
