Schwabe Digital has announced the release of an update to its audio plugin inspired by the unique stock clipper found in Image-Line’s FL Studio.
Version 1.1 of Orange Clip adds Gold Clip’s unique Anti-Overshoot Oversampling Technology.
While most clippers create overs (output levels above 0.0dBFS) after downsampling, both Orange Clip and Gold Clip keep peaks below 0.0dBFS at all oversampling settings. Clip as much as you want and never go over 0.0 dBFS.
Furthermore, the following improvements have been implemented:
- Reduced CPU usage: Orange Clip’s DSP is now 3X more efficient than it was in the previous version, while keeping the sound exactly the same.
- Resizable interface: The interface has been redesigned in vectors, enhancing the interface’s clarity and allowing it to be resizable. The frame-rate of the meters and transfer function has been improved, and the updated UI has improved stability on Windows and increased efficiency on both Mac and Windows platforms.
- Gain Link Offset for I/O Trims & Parallel Mixer: Click the link button, and the link offset is set. If your input is +1dB, and output is 0dB, then a 1dB offset is maintained as you move the faders. Shift-Drag either fader to change the offset, Shift-Option-Click a fader and the offset is reset to 0dB, or turn linking off, make an adjustment, and then turn linking back on.
The update is free for existing users of Orange Clip. New customers can purchase a license for $119 USD, or use the rent-to-own option at $11.99 USD/month.
