VirSyn has announced the release of a 64-bit AU version of its CUBE resynthesizer instrument.
We are happy to announce the release of a native 64 bit Mac OS X AudioUnit version for the legendary Spectral Morphing Resynthesizer CUBE.
“With Cube, VirSyn brings a whole new approach to additive synthesis. In the past, the shear number of variables necessary to do additive effectively have made it cumbersome and not very practical. Cube’s innovative interface and capabilities make it expressive, powerful, and fun to use.”
Celebrating the 64 bit release you can also benefit from our winter special offer for most of our products. This is the first release in a series of new 64 bit versions of our instrument line. Expect 64-bit versions of all instruments on Mac and PC in the next months. This will also include VST3 and AAX compatible plugins.
CUBE is available to purchase for 99 EUR during VirSyn’s Winter Sale, which ends March 31st, 2014.

Black Octopus Sound presents a selection of tools designed specifically for resampling – the first of its kind! Created to work with the Harmor additive synthesizer, this selection of tools is designed to turn wimpy lifeless synth sounds into beast-like face eating growls and robot dinosaur snarls.
Resampling is the process of taking some recorded audio and loading it back into a sampler or resynthesis engine, adding a few fx or minor tweaks, re-recording the audio again – rinse and repeat. This process allows for some very interesting tones not possible with regular synthesis methods. Resampling can be heard often in many drum and bass and dubstep producers tracks, great examples of resampling can be heard in the legendary electronic group Noisia.
Mutate: Harmor Resampling Tools features
Channel Presets 9 Harmor presets which range from massive detuned reeses to crunchy distorted basses. 2 Sytrus presets – one classic reese and one utilizing FM synthesis to obtain monster like tones. As a bonus there is also a Mixer FX track preset for FL Studio to beef up your sounds, a love filter preset for some extra modulation, one massive Harmor riser, a demo FLP, and an empty resampling template FLP to get you started.
Resampling presets The real fun of this pack, 23 Harmor presets to drag and drop audio in. They are skillfully crafted with precision to add just the right amount of subtle transformation to your sound. They are also chained together in groups (for example Bitten B1, Bitten B2, Bitten B3) to eliminate the guesswork of what presets sound good together. There are no rules however – mix and match and come up with your own favorite combinations.
In total there are 38 presets. Please note Image-line Harmor is required for most of this pack. Sytrus is also used for 2 presets.
The sound pack is available to purchase for £6.95 GBP.

Sonic Charge has announced that its Bitspeek real-time pitch-excited linear prediction codec effect is now available for Reason.
Rack Extensions for Reason was released today and we are proud to be able to offer Bitspeek in their store from day 1. The Rack Extension format has been in the making for a long time and has taken many sharp turns. From the very conception of Record, it has always been the intention to add plug-in support and as a consultant I’ve been involved in at least three entirely different solutions (and yes, one of them was to simply add VST and AU support). It has taken its time, but the final technology is amazingly well-designed and I have high hopes for the future of this format.
Resynthesize audio in Propllerhead’s Reason with the Bitspeek Rack Extension.
Compared to the AU/VST version, Bitspeek RE adds the following features:
Stereo analysis and resynthesis. The stereo image (pan and width) of the incoming audio is analyzed and resynthesized.
Improved volume tracking algorithm with much better transient response and consistency across source material and sample-rates.
External audio input allows you to use the formant filter on any material.
Lots of CV ins and outs for integrating into your rack and scoring high on geekness factor.
Comes with a selection of Combinators that demonstrates the possibilities with the extra inputs and outputs.
Bitspeek RE is available to purchase from the Rack Extension store for $49 USD / 39 EUR (incl. VAT).
