Synth Magic releases Black Widow synth library for Kontakt

Synth Magic Black Widow

Synth Magic has announced Black Widow, a synthesizer and sequencer instrument for Native Instruments Kontakt.

Our latest instrument, based on sounds taken from various analogue synths including Moog Sonic 6, Yamaha CS20M and passed through various analogue filters and vintage valve pre-amps to twist the sounds into new exciting waveforms.

Big analogue sounds pour from Black Widow with ease thanks to passing some of the samples through vintage valve pre-amps and pushing them hard to make sounds that have depth and bite to them.
Black Widow has two OSC’s comprising of 26 waveforms which can be selected via the waveform menu system. All sounds are loaded into the instrument at once and can be selected via the user interface and mixed together using the variety of controls in the user interface.

Easily create biting bass and lead sounds, gorgeous analogue pads and strings, off the wall analogue synth sounds and effects.

Black Widow also comes with a new sequencer. The inspiration for this sequencer came from the sequential Circuits Pro-One synthesiser. Black Widow’s sequencer has lot’s of extra twists and the ability to sequence waveforms. The Black Widow sequencer has been scripted from scratch and allows you to key in notes from your midi keyboard.

The Black Widow library is available to purchase for the introductory price of £20 GBP (regular £25 GBP). Requires full version of Kontakt 5.2.1 or higher.

Synth Magic releases Elka Solist 505 for Kontakt

Synth Magic has announced the release of Elka Solist 505, a virtual analogue synthesizer instrument for Kontakt 5.

Synth Magic Elka Solist 505
The library is based on the rare little Italian beauty, the Solist 505.

The Elka Solist 505 was a monophonic lead synthesizer, preset based with variations for added performance. It provided a nice alternative to the Moog Satellite ARP Pro Soloist. It had 11 presets, all which could be changed with freq/res, attack/release, vibrato and portamento. Notably, it contained the famous Moog ladder filter. Although basic in function – no CV, no MIDI – it could produce some lovely tones, and the keyboard action was very nice indeed – something you’d expect from a renowned Italian organ manufacturer!

In making the Solist 505, I sampled every single note of every preset from a real Elka Solist 505. Samples recorded at 24 bit for quality and depth. Each preset from the original machine has been sampled twice; the first set recorded clean, to give a perfect recreation of the Solist, and the other second set I recorded through vintage 1960′s valve pre-amps similar to the pre-amps used by Joe Meek. Both sample sets can be selected directly from the custom GUI, designed by saintjohnbaxter.. There is also the ability to play both sets of samples at the same time.

In keeping with the real Solist there is also a synth section, allowing you to shape each sound using filters, LFOs, envelopes, vibrato etc.

There’s also a small memory footprint, as all samples are streamed directly from your hard drive and not your computer’s RAM memory.

We have included over 120 great presets to get you started with the Solist 505.

The Kontakt library is available to purchase for the introductory price of £8 GBP. Requires the full version of Native Instruments Kontak 5.

Synth Magic releases Sounds of the Trilogy for Kontakt

Related: , , , Posted in news on Sep 20, 2013 - comment 0 comments

Synth Magic has released Sounds of the Trilogy, a virtual instrument library for Native Instruments Kontakt, based on the 1980′s Crumar Trilogy analogue synthesiser.

Synth Magic Sounds of the Trilogy
A Kontakt library of the Trilogy 1980′s analog synthesizer, ensemble synth & organ.

2Gb of samples taken from the Trilogy, including lots of sounds made on the the Trilogy synth section. 3 timbre settings of the analogue ensemble section have been sampled and can be selected by the 3 position Timbre dial. The Trilogy has an organ section and this has also been sampled. Sounds can then be layered.

All these samples are controlled by a custom Kontakt user interface. Interface graphics have been designed by renound GUI designer Anders Hedstrom (Flavours of Lime).

The main synth section of this Kontakt instrument has a collection of Trilogy synth section samples at it’s heart. All samples are streamed from disk to allow a very small memory footprint and are easily selected from the custom drop down menu system of the user interface.

The ensemble sound of the Trilogy can be used to create Jarre Oxygene type strings and lots of other types of analogue ensemble strings. Lots of extras have been added such as Formant filters, Phase animators, auto panners, extra effects, tape saturation etc.

Sounds of the Trilogy features

  • 2GB of samples, easily accessed from GUI menu.
  • Custom GUI by Flavours of Lime.
  • 150 presets.
  • Synth section.
  • Ensemble section.
  • Effects section.

The sound library is available to purchase for the introductory price of £15 GBP until October 1st, 2013.

Synth Magic releases Vector X for Kontakt

Synth Magic has launched Vector X, a virtual instrument for Native Instruments Kontakt, featuring the sounds of the Sequential Circuits Prophet VS digital synthesizer.

1.6GB of wav samples compressed using NI’s compression and lots of presets included to get you started on your sonic experiments with Vector X.

The Prophet VS is a vector synthesiser and uses samples of waveforms as it’s osc’s – These are then routed through traditional analogue filters etc.

The sound of a VS is different from the usual analogue polysynths of that era and is used by lots of film score composers.

Synth Magic Vector X
Synth Magic Vector X for Native Instruments Kontakt (GUI by saintjohnbaxter).

Vector X features

Tronsonic and Synthmagic release System1000M for Kontakt

Tronsonic and Synthmagic have announced the release of System1000M, a modular style synthesizer for Native Instruments Kontakt.

This is based on a famous Japanese modular, with a few alternative features. Plenty of modulation possibilities, its great fun to use. Steve and I have streamlined the instrument to make it as cpu efficient as possible – it handles very well in fact.

There’s an arpeggiator, with 2 ‘interval’ sections, allowing some very interesting patterns to be made. Most of the tracks in the video were made with pressing one or two keys of a multi-mode preset.

There is a dual polarity Keytrack function assigned to the mod-wheel. This acts as a great alternative to filter cutoff, as it is pitch specific.

System1000M features

  • Over 275 presets.
  • From raucous laboratory experiments, acid house and techno to serene radiophonic bliss-scapes.
  • Optional new ‘add-on’ banks and presets (coming soon).
  • Sampled with vintage valve equipment to quarter inch tape for maximum analogue texture.

The sample library is available to purchase for the introductory price of £14.99 GBP until May 20th, 2013. Requires Kontakt 5.1.0 full version.
