Exponential Audio updates PhoenixVerb & R2 to v1.5.0

Exponential Audio

Exponential Audio has updated its PhoenixVerb and R2 reverb effect plug-ins to version 1.5.0.

Improvements include AudioSuite support for AAX plugins, a number of new presets, and several bug fixes.

Changes in PhoenixVerb v1.5.0 / R2 v1.5.0

  • Moved logs (on Mac) to /Library/Logs/ExponentialAudio.
  • Fixed some potential permissions in Mac installer.
  • Windows build uses new AAX SDK.
  • Added presets [PhoenixVerb]: Back Yard, Deep Hall 2, Lge Stone Church 2, Slapback Explosion 2, Small Far Hall 2, Small Close Hall 3, [R2]: Lge Far Cham 2, Med Guitar Hall 3, Rich Guitar Hall 3, Lge 81 Plate 2, Lge Random Plate.
  • Fixed a bug that had found its way into the first beta. This caused the preset name not to be refreshed in the preset selector when using a mouse.
  • Fixed a few buffer initialization bugs.
  • [R2] Fixed a bug in the ProTools automation page tables. Early/Reverb filter frequencies were not being automated. Now they are.
  • [R2] Fixed a minor VST issue that caused the plugin to show up in the wrong category.
  • Added AudioSuite processing. AAX only.
  • Fixed a very rare issue that could cause a hang on removing plugins from a project (or on shutting down).
  • ProTools only: Program changes are now shown under automation. In order for this to work, all parameters (except bypass) must be automated.
  • Fixed a small bug that caused the zoom button to appear when the screen was too small to allow zoom.
  • Fixed an initialization issue that could theoretically cause a plugin to launch without passing audio. This problem was never observed in this plugin.
  • Added detection of Fairlight Dream II DAW.

PhoenixVerb and R2 are available to purchase for Mac and Windows (AU/VST/RTAS/AAX) for $199 USD and $299 USD respectively. A bundle of both plug-ins is $449 USD.

Exponential Audio

Exponential Audio has announced the release of version 1.4 of the PhoenixVerb and R2 reverb effect plug-ins for Windows and Mac.

Changes in PhoenixVerb / R2 v1.4

  • Changed the way factory presets are loaded and managed. Startup is now much faster.
  • Cleared up some problems in deleting and managing user presets.
  • Fixed a minor issue that caused the wrong button to display in the preset editor.
  • A few factory presets had been stored with Mix at a different value from 100%. That has been corrected.
  • A few efficiency gains and speedups.
  • Slightly smoother drawing of the realtime frequency display
  • Eliminated some ticks from program change
  • New memory clearing logic (for relocating) is spread out and less ‘lumpy’ in terms of processor requirements.
  • Fixed mono->stereo bypass.
  • The binary is now ‘wrapped’ so that license codes can be entered directly.
  • Added several presets
    • Phoenix: Plates and Chambers, a handful of large halls and churches. Percussion halls.
    • R2: Large Hall presets.

PhoenixVerb and R2 are available for Mac and Windows (AU/VST/RTAS/AAX, 32/64bit), priced at $199 USD and $299 USD respectively. A bundle of both is $449 USD.

Exponential Audio updates PhoenixVerb and R2 to v1.2

Exponential Audio PhoenixVerb

Exponential Audio has released version 1.2 of its PhoenixVerb and R2 reverb effect plug-ins for Windows and Mac.

The long wait for 64-bit Windows code is over. PhoenixVerb and R2 now support 64-bit Windows VST and Windows AAX. There are many other improvements–a better preset loader, faster startup, better performance.

If you’re already an owner, get to the download page and get your update. If you’d like to try them out, go to the demo pages and get a new 21-day demo.

Changes in PhoenixVerb / R2 v1.2

  • 64-bit Windows VST.
  • Windows AAX (32-bit).
  • Mac and Windows versions and features are now synchronized, with identical features between both.
  • Updated 64-bit AAX. Another release will be needed when ProTools 11 ships (due to digital signing), but current version will work well for any PT11 testers.
  • Fixed a problem in the graphics library that could cause crashes for Cubase and Studio One (possibly other Windows DAWs).
  • Plugin scanning and launch are now faster.
  • Added a Cancel button to preset menu.
  • Changing a keyword no longer automatically loads a preset from the new keyword. No preset is loaded until the user selects one.
  • Fixed a bug that appeared in Windows. There were a few value gaps in setting output gain parameters.
  • Fixed a problem in automation. ‘Touch’ style automation was a fight between original knob position and the desired position. This was also a minor problem in other forms of automation, but was much less noticeable.
  • Dialed back the GUI color intensity by a couple of notches.
  • Completely rewrote the preset loader in the GUI. The popup menu no longer goes from the top of the screen to the bottom for large lists. The new compact view actually shows many more presets at once. In addition, the preset list will no longer show up behind the main GUI in those cases where it was a problem.
  • As part of the new preset loader, there is now subtle background coloring that helps to group presets that are variants of a basic preset ( Dark, Narr, etc).
  • Defer loading graphics until a UI is opened. This makes load quicker for jobs in which the UI is normally closed.
  • Fixed a longstanding minor bug that sometimes corrupted the keyword list when deleting a user preset.
  • Fixed a problem that appeared in Digital Performer (and probably other DAWs) in which the reverb tail would stop as soon a playback stopped. Reverb tails now continue after motion stops.
  • New presets.
  • Considerable under-the-hood work for stability and teensy performance improvements.

PhoenixVerb and R2 are available to purchase for $199 USD and $299 USD respectively. A bundle of both is $449 USD.

Exponential Audio releases PhoenixVerb and R2 plugins

Exponential Audio has released PhoenixVerb and R2, two reverb effect plug-ins for Windows and Mac.

Exponential Audio PhoenixVerb
Exponential Audio PhoenixVerb clean and simple reverb.

PhoenixVerb features

  • Ideal for applications where a realistic natural reverberation is needed. It’s perfect for classical music, jazz, acoustic music or percussion with just the right placement.
  • PhoenixVerb provides flexible and easy control of early reflections, giving you many ways to create small rooms for instruments, ADR, foley or voiceover.
  • Hundreds of presets are organized by keywords so that it’s easy for you to find just what you need. You can extend the keyword library with new keywords that suit the way you work.
  • PhoenixVerb’s powerful internal architecture gives you convincing Halls, Plates, Chambers and Rooms–all in one single plugin.
  • Four selectable equalizers give you a reverb that drops right into the frequency range you need.
Exponential Audio R2
Exponential Audio R2 active reverb.

R2 features

  • Created for mixes where the sound of the reverb is part of the sound of the mix. Reverb tails are alive with character.
  • Flexible chorusing inside the reverb structure can give gentle (or not so gentle) fluctuations of pitch. Or it can ‘fatten’ up the sound without obvious pitch changes.
  • R2 also has a gate, driven by the reverb’s input. Whether for the dramatic effect of a fat reverb that’s suddenly swallowed up, or for gentle ducking, you have power you can explore.
  • Just like PhoenixVerb, R2 makes quick work of adjusting early reflections for convincing small rooms. You can create Plates, Chambers and Halls with a wholly different flavor from R2.
  • The flexible EQ of PhoenixVerb is extended, with separate EQs for early reflections and reverb tail.
  • Preset keyword organization lets you organize your presets for the way you use them.

PhoenixVerb and R2 are available for Windows and Mac (VST/AU/RTAS/AAX), priced $199 USD and $299 USD respectively. A bundle of both is $449 USD.
