The Lower Rhythm releases Thresher

The Lower Rhythm has released Thresher, a compressor effect plug-in for Windows.

Purely intended as an effect tool, Thresher is the compressor your mother warned you about. Capable of obnoxious sustain extension as well as distorted crushing, Thresher offers itself up as a diverse toneshaping tool for those who are into heavier or experimental music-making. Features a vintage style compressor along with a clean output and a variable ‘Power’ control that introduces tube style saturation and old school filter fatness. Gently polish or obliterate: your choice!

The Lower Rhythm releases D-15/2 v2 drum synth plugin

Related: , , Posted in news on Apr 04, 2011 - comment 0 comments
The Lower Rhythm D-15/2

The Lower Rhythm has released version 2 of D-15/2, a stereo, vintage-style analog drum synthesizer for Windows.

It follows standard trigger placement (for compatibility) and is fully tunable: this means that you can alter nearly every possible parameter that defines how the drum voices sound. With a total of 16 voices (including a twin bass drum channel), global and channel dedicated bit crushers and an output consisting of two stereo channels — clean and dirty (tube amp simulator w/added bit crusher and tube drive stage) — the D15/2 lends an uncommon level of control and variation to the analog drum concept.

Changes in D-15/2 v2

  • 40% CPU reduction.
  • Redesigned GUI w/smaller footprint.
  • Redesigned amplifier with bit crushing and drive stages.
  • Additional ‘tubes’ added to amplifier.
  • Updated ‘tube’ design.
  • Redesigned visual trigger indicators.
  • Streamlined internal routing.
  • Improvements to bit crusher resolution.
  • Bit Crushers added to Snare and HiHat channels.
  • Unnecessary reverb circuit removed to improve CPU.
  • New and reworked presets.

D-15/2 for Windows (VST) is available to purchase for $19.99 USD.

The Lower Rhythm Rhinoceros, effect plugin updated to v3

The Lower Rhythm Rhinoceros

The Lower Rhythm has released Rhinoceros v3, an updated version of the effect plug-in for Windows.

Rhinoceros is a rather colored channel-strip-like utility designed to add weight and character to otherwise stale sounds. Perfect for breathing life into sequenced drums and DI’d electric bass guitar, or adding some excitement to your string / pad section.

Changes in Rhinoceros v3

  • Removal of unnecessary features to improve the interface.
  • Redesigned graphics.
  • Refined compressor and EQ sections.
  • Redesigned tube emulation system.
  • Two ‘tubes’ per channel now.
  • Redesigned master section with new variable ‘Voice’ knob.

Rhinoceros for Windows (VST) is available to purchase for $18.99 USD.
