TK Audio releases the Transceiver, a four channel insert station.
The Transceiver is a four channel universal interface between balanced and unbalanced gear. Each channel has a send level and a 0-20dB gain for the returns. A polarity switch is also provided on the return channels.
TK Audio Transceiver (click image for full version).
- Hook up your guitar pedals and old tape-echos to your DAW or console inserts.
- Use it as a linebox for your bass, keyboard and guitar.
- Also a perfect tool when you like to hook up your bass directly to your favourite pre’s mic input.
- Transceiver is also a very useful re-amp tool.

Expert Sleepers has announced the release of the ES-3 mk2, a new version of its popular ES-3 Lightpipe/CV Interface Eurorack module.
The ES-3 is a Eurorack format module which converts eight channels of ADAT Lightpipe input to DC coupled outputs on 3.5mm jacks, for the ultimate convenience in connection of a DAW directly to analogue synthesizers.
The outputs can be used as control voltages (CVs), for example with software such as Expert Sleepers Silent Way, and can also be used as audio outputs at high, modular synth-compatible levels.
With the ES-3, a single optical cable is all that is need to bring direct CV control from your DAW right into the heart of a modular system.
The ES-3 mk2 adds two headers to the PCB for connection to as yet unannounced expansion modules.
ES-3 mk2 modules are available to purchase for MSRP £159 GBP + VAT.

Expert Sleepers has announced the ES-4, a Eurorack format module which converts a standard S/PDIF input to five channels of control voltage.
Two of the five channels are calibrated to provide over 5 octaves of 1V/octave pitch CV. The remaining three channels are general purpose outputs (for use as e.g. gates, envelopes, LFOs) and each have a nominal range of 0-10V or ±5V (user selectable).
Since S/PDIF is a stereo-only format, the encoding of the five channels on to two is handled by software to be provided as part of Expert Sleepers Silent Way.
The ES-4 will connect to any audio device using the S/PDIF standard. This includes the digital audio output provided as standard on all recent Macs.
The ES-4 Gate Expander is a Eurorack module which works in tandem with the ES-4 to offer 8 on/off outputs for use as gates, triggers, clocks etc.
Up to five ES-4 Gate Expanders can be attached to one ES-4 – one per ES-4 channel. (The 8 outputs of the Gate Expander reflect the 8 bits of CV information passed to the ES-4′s DACs.) Therefore you can combine the modules to create a system with up to 40 independent gate outputs – all driven from a single S/PDIF connection.
ES-4 prelimiary specifications
- Panel width: 8HP.
- Module depth: 51mm.
- Digital input: coaxial S/PDIF.
- Digital output: coaxial S/PDIF.
- Analogue outputs: 5x 3.5mm jacks, DC-coupled.
- Output voltages
- Channels 1-2: 0-5.3V (when trimmed for 1V/octave response).
- Channels 3-5: 0-10V or ±5V (jumper selectable per channel).
- D/A conversion: 8 bit, using high precision Analog Devices DACs.
- Indicators: LED for S/PDIF sync lock; 2 LEDs per channel on channels 3-5 indicate output voltage (+ve/-ve).
- 5 headers for connecting ES-4 Gate Expander modules (see below).
- Digital audio I/O header (I2S format) for future expansion.
ES-4 Gate Expander preliminary specifications
- Panel width: 4HP.
- Module depth: 24mm.
- Analogue outputs: 8x 3.5mm jacks, DC-coupled.
- Output voltages: 0V/5V or 0V/12V, selectable via jumper in groups independently for channels 1-4 and 5-8.
- Indicators: LED per channel.
The ES-4 modules are scheduled for release August 2011. Pricing TBA.

New Signal Process has announced the release of BreakOut Stomp and BreakOut Stereo, two new pedals for interacting with the iPad or iPhone.
The BreakOut Stomp is designed specifically for guitarists and bassists. It is based on numerous requests by guitarists since day one.
It integrates seamlessly into your pedal board and comes with a custom hand made,12 foot, pro audio Mogami detachable cable so that you can place your iPad safely on your road case, a table, or a keyboard stand near you to interact with while you perform. It is built with audiophile grade components for the warmest possible sound and, housed in a rugged die cast aluminum case, it is designed to last on stage and on tour through many generations of iPads and iPhones.
The BreakOut Stereo design is based on various requests by DJs, producers, and elecro-acoustic artists using synth apps and drum programming to have a pedal that has stereo output from two separate outputs.
Electronic and electro-acoustic artists these days are performing in so many different situations and with so many different instrument combinations, the BreakOut Stereo is designed with them in mind so that the interface can easily adapt into the most varied table top setups both live and when recording.
The BreakOut Stomp is available to purchase for $155 USD, BreakOut Stereo is $135 USD.
