Elektron releases Nintari Flashback Sound pack for the Octatrack

Elektron Nintari

Elektron has announced the release of the Nintari Flashback sound pack for the Octatrack dynamic performance sampler.

The Atari 2600 and the Nintendo Entertainment System are the consoles that helped form a generation. They are remembered not only for their amazing selection of games, but also for that special video game sound they were capable of generating. The great Puremagnetik team has sampled both consoles in detail and we are proud to present the fruit of their labor: the Nintari Flashback Sound pack. The mixture of seriously raw waveforms, lo-fi squeaks and 8-bit drum sounds will beam the Octatrack straight back to the future. Press start to continue!

Puremagnetik releases Skatik heavily circuit bent Casio SK-5 for Ableton Live, Kontakt and Logic

Puremagnetik Statik

Puremagnetik has announced the release of Skatik, a collection of instruments, sound effects, percussion kits and looped digital freak-outs sourced from a heavily circuit bent Casio SK-5.

The most interesting on-board sounds have been multi-sampled and then recorded in circuit bent variations. The system sampling engine was exploited for it’s lo-fi specification (8bit/9khz) and then under-powered to create exceptionally textured sound effects and percussion kits. At one point during Puremagnetik’s modifications we unlocked a mysterious tweak that caused the internal SK-5 sequences to re-arrange themselves randomly and to loop irregularly. These bizarre tonal oddities have been meticulously looped and programmed into three large instruments for endless experimentation.

Skatik features

  • A complete circuit bent Casio SK-5 synthesizer emulation.
  • Hundreds of high quality samples.
  • Ableton Live Racks with precise incremental controls.
  • Kontakt KSP easy edit GUI .
  • Logic EXS version includes Channel Strip Settings with Logic effects.
  • EXS Universal file format for easy importing into any audio host.

Statik is now available to download for Puremagnetik subscribers.

Puremagnetik releases Phonik—Classic Paraphonic 505 for Ableton Live, Kontakt and Logic

Puremagnetik Phonik

Puremagnetik has announced Phonik, a sound library that brings the celebrated Roland Paraphonic-505 right to your desktop.

It was reverse engineered from the original Paraphonic voicing architecture and includes the famous Cello, Tuba, Contrabass, Strings and Synth sections. Read more about Phonik http://bitly.com/Y8WqBQ

The Synth section has four waveforms and the Bass section has three preset bass sound types to choose from. The String section has two selectable String preset sounds. Puremagnetik has captured all three Ensemble modes of the original for each voice!

Sounds from the three tone sections can be blended for interesting results and the built-in Ensemble chorusing effect really warms, thickens and lushes up the sounds! Similar to the ARP Omni, the Paraphonic 505 is considered one of Roland’s finest string synths of its era. Now you can put this legendary synth into Live, Kontakt, Logic or any EXS24 compatible host.

Phonik features

  • A complete Roland Paraphonic 505 synthesizer emulation.
  • Hundreds of high quality samples.
  • Ableton Live Racks with precise incremental controls.
  • Kontakt KSP easy edit GUI .
  • Logic EXS version includes Channel Strip Settings with Logic effects.
  • EXS Universal file format for easy importing into any audio host.

Puremagnetik Retro Synths 1980s and MachineKits Bundle 30% off at Ableton

Ableton has announced it is offering a bundle of Retro Synths 1980s and MachineKits by Puremagnetik at a limited time discount.

Puremagnetik Bundle

Puremagnetik’s Retro Synths 1980s features the sounds of synthesizers that defined an era – from the legendary rich tones of Roland‘s Jupiter series of synths, through the classic analog purity of the Korg PolySix, to the characteristically crystalline voice of the Yamaha DX7. Retro Synths 1980s also includes a selection of finely-tailored instruments that fully capture the charm of lesser-known synths such as the EDP Wasp or the Casio CZ-1.

The MachineKits collection is a high-quality library of electronic percussion programmed by the same sound designers who created Ableton Live’s Drum Machines. The collection boasts nearly 1GB of audio and 1900 samples (24-bit, 96 kHz), comprising six sophisticated kits and more than 120 intricately programmed Live Clips. Advanced Macro mappings for precision sound tweaking and performance make MachineKits a versatile and playable addition to Live users’ percussion palette.

The Retro Synths 1980s and MachineKits bundle is available to purchase for 49 EUR / $59 USD until August 29th, 2012 (~30% off regular).
