New Atlantis Audio has released Project Echo: Snapshots from Space, a new sample library.
Inspired by an early NASA communications project, and spawned from beautiful celestial satellite imagery, Project Echo is the latest addition to New Atlantis Audio’s growing library of atmospheric and unusual sound tools for musicians.
The foundation sounds were created by processing high resolution deep space satellite photographs with spectral analysis, granular echo effects and various resynthesis techniques, and the results are stellar. Pun intended.
Project Echo provides a ton of exploration and sonic potential to the creative musician working in any genre or style who could use a healthy dose of the atmospheric and exotic. There’s loads of variety inside – from evolving, long-play ambient soundscapes, to complex rhythmic textures, to huge granular effects, atmospheric drums, and even a nice set of vintage film dialog – all designed to inspire and be explored.
Project Echo: Snapshots from Space features
- Reason ReFill: 160 24bit Rex2 files, 7 Combinator instrument racks.
- Rex Pack: 160 24bit Rex2 files.
- Audio Pack: 160 24bit Apple Loop/AIFF files.
- All versions include over 100 bonus single drum and percussion hits in AIFF format.
Project Echo: Snapshots from Space is available to purchase for $19.99 USD.
The previously released Lost & Found sample library is now also available in REX and Audio packs.

Peace Love Productions has released Caverns and Deep Space, two new downloadable sample libraries.
Caverns is a collection of soundscapes for dark ambient space music.
Sound designer Hans Brunning used select sound sources and harmonics through a custom DSP chain to achieve these deeply slow evolving textures. Each continuous sound loop is seamless at it’s looping point to create infinite cavernous sound beds. Inspired by artist such as Steve Roach, Robert Rich, Lustmord, and Klaus Schultze. There are 75 Cavern loops and 16 Tunnels. They are a lengthy 4 measures long at 75BPMs. You may also use these sounds as Science Fiction sound effects and experimental art pieces.
Deep Space is a collection of long ambient soundscapes designed for producing ambient space music.
Sound folders include Contact, Dark Matter, Deep Space, Gamma Ray Bursts, Outer Reaches, Radiation, Solar Flares, and Space Junk. Over 1 gigabyte of content. 95 extremely long loops in all at 110 BPM. You may also use these sounds as Science Fiction sound effects and experimental art pieces.
Both libraries are available in Wav & Apple Loops format (24bit/44.1KHz stereo) for $19.95 USD each.

Splurgo Audio has released Electron Radio-Wave Space Noise Samples and Hammered Dulcimer Loops Pack 1, two new downloadable sample packs.
Electron Radio-Wave Space Noise Samples: Space is big. Really big. I mean, you may think its a long way down to the nearest convenience store, but that’s just peanuts to space… Most people might think space is silent considering how big and black it is. Let me tell you now, it’s noisy out there. These samples were recorded with our powerful space noise antenna locator pointed at various points in the universe as we happen to believe space noise always adds something great to any song! However do be aware that we are not responsible if aliens pick you up after using these samples.
Hammered Dulcimer Loops Pack 1: The hammered dulcimer (also known as the hammer dulcimer or four hammer dulcimer) is a stringed musical instrument with the strings stretched over a trapezoidal sounding board. Usually used as a traditional folk instrument and commonly played at Renaissance festivals the world over. The dulcimer is typically set at an angle on a stand in front of the musician, who holds a small mallet, called a hammer in each hand with which to strike the strings. Try out our demos as you may be surprised at how well the dulcimer fits with your mix.
Electron Radio-Wave Space Noise Samples costs $5.95 USD / 4.04 EUR, while the Hammered Dulcimer Loops Pack 1 will set you back $7.95 USD / 5.39 EUR.

Sounds from Saturn is a collection of eerie noises, audio files made from data collected by the Cassini-Huygens mission to Saturn.
NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory has posted links to sound files released over the past several years by the mission team, timed to coincide with Halloween.
David Shiga from New Scientist writes:
Most are not actually sound recordings, but the result of converting non-audio data like magnetic field measurements into sound using computers.
