Hideaway Studio releases The String Collection for Kontakt

Hideaway Studio has announced The String Collection, a string synthesizer sound library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

It features 16 synthetic strings presented in the 4 voice layering engine made by carefully blending and tube processing several native analog sources including 1938 Novachord, 1972 Eminent 310U, 1978 ARP Omni, SE Omega 8 and Crumar Bit One as well as several experimental discrete analog/tube based exponential sawtooth, waveshaping, passive L/C and EQ circuits.

Hideaway Studio The String Collection
The String Collection features a number of tube processed layers and blends of string synthesizers, brought together to form the basic 16 instruments loaded into the layering engine in NI Kontakt.

The String Collection features

  • 244 generously long 24-bit samples.
  • 16 multi-sampled voices/partials.
  • 4-Voice Layering Engine with ability to save.
  • 12 editable example instrument patches.
  • 2 example layered multi patches.
  • User Manual.

The sample library is available to purchase for £10 GBP. Requires Kontakt 4.2.4 or higher, full version.

Hideaway Studio releases The Blue Zone for Kontakt

Hideaway Studio has launched The Blue Zone, the first in a new series of unique sounds & textures for Native Instruments Kontakt.

Hideaway Studio The Blue Zone

The Blue Zone is a new series of one-off experimental electronic textures and instruments presented with a simple user interface to be periodically interspersed between major releases (there is indeed much work in progress on a new project!). The plan is that they will eventually form a unique library of more exotic sounds available in single inexpensive installments.

Most of the sounds in the collection will be exclusively created from scratch using combinations of custom tube hybrid equipment, experimental circuits and vintage analog gear. I have named the first installment after the series, The Blue Zone…

This wispy number was created by three modulated and detuned ramps fed hot into the Dual Tube Hybrid Filter with both the Tube and Multi-Mode stages dancing about self resonance. The filter cutoffs were hand cranked in unison via a modulation matrix in and out of the harmonic resonance points and the results passed through an analog chorus and sampled in 24-bits.

The Blue Zone for Kontakt costs £1.50 GBP (requires Kontakt full version 4.2.4 or higher).

Hideaway Studio releases Zero-1 Synthesizer for Kontakt

Hideaway Studio has announced the release of Zero-1, a synthesizer sound library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

Hideaway Studio Zero-1 Synthesizer
The Zero-1 is based on the Yamaha CS01 synthesizer.

Zero-1 is in essence a single oscillator virtual analog synthesizer (VA) loosely based on the CS01 monosynth which was released in 1982 as an affordable entry into the world of analog synthesis… but with a twist! Rather than simply sample the basic DCO oscillators from the original instrument I thought it might be more interesting to first pass them through a tube overdrive and Watkins Copicat tape delay. Mangling the raw oscillators in this manner injected a significant amount of character and movement to the original waveforms – even the splice in the tape loop adds something! Five oscillators were multi-sampled in 24-bits in this manner: triangle, sawtooth, 50% square, 25% square and PWM.

One unique feature of the Zero-1 is the ability to switch between a Mk I and Mk II CS01 filter emulation. This selects either a 12dB/oct or 24dB/oct filter and changes the livery of the control panel to match the original variants – a flash of genius by Stephen Howell at Hollow Sun!

Zero-1 features

  • The Zero-1 Synth for Kontakt.
  • 50 24-bit tube & tape waveshaped oscillator samples.
  • 40 editable example instrument patches with ability to save.
  • 10 example layered multi patches.
  • User Guide.

Zero-1 for Kontakt is available to purchase for £5 GBP.

Hideaway Studio releases The Orbitone Collection for Kontakt

Hideaway Studio has announced The Orbitone Collection, a sound library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

A selection of complex warm electronic textures made with an unusual combination of 1972 Eminent 310U, a rehoused 1978 Polymoog Resonator Section, 1976 Minimoog Model D and 1938 Novachord all processed with vintage classic analog and tube technology and brought together in the same proven 4-voice layering engine as the S-VX library…
