Intermorphic Noatikl

Intermorphic has updated its Noatikl Generative Music Lab to version 2.1.5, and the Mixtikl Generative Music Mixer to version 5.2.10.

Changes in Noatikl v2.1.5:

  • All versions: fixed issue where initial Patch change MIDI events were not always delivered at piece start (FYI, this was a bug raised in the forum).
  • All versions: online help links from the FX and Sound Generator units now working.
  • All Mac versions: MIDI File Recordings now saved to ~/Music/Noatikl/MIDI Recordings; this folder is now a fixed location on Mac (so on Mac, you no longer see the Change button in the Noatikl Preferences or MIDI Cooker dialogs). All Noatikl MIDI recordings files that are found in the old folder location (assuming you haven’t customised it.), are moved automatically to the new folder when Noatikl first starts up.
  • Mac App Store version: added full-screen support.

Changes in Mixtikl v5.2.10

  • iOS: added-back support for 44kHz audio.
  • All: online help links from the FX and Sound Generator units now working.
  • Other bug fixes.

Intermorphic releases Mixtikl 5 Generative Music Lab with Words, Visualizer and Tap Play

Intermorphic has introduced Mixtikl 5, a generative music application.

Intermorphic Mixtikl

Intermorphic Ltd today releases Mixtikl 5 Generative Music Lab, a unique combination of 12 Track Mixer, multiSynth, Live FX and Visualizer with Word display allowing social sharing of “mixtikls”, tweetable interactive generative music mixes that can include 140 characters of text and a range of visualization and display settings. Tweeted or email shared “mixtikls” can be played and enjoyed in the relevant variant of Mixtikl™ or Mixtikl Free. There are versions of Mixtikl for Apple® iPad®, iPhone®, iPod touch®, Mac OS® and Microsoft® Windows®.

With Mixtikl 5, Intermorphic™ has also made it much easier to create the ambient, relaxing and high quality generative music mixes that provide the musical backdrop for the mixtikl’s included text, which could be a reflective Haiku, a short poem, a greeting or other message. The mixtikl plays when it is imported to into Mixtikl on an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch, Mac or PC, or the Mixtikl browser plug-in and the recipient can then tap the screen to reveal the message and even play along. The tweeted or email email shared “mixtikls” include everything that is needed for playback, including the short messages, visualizer settings & play along generative music mixes.

None of the power of Mixtikl 4 has been lost, as the music mixes and new tap play instruments can also be totally customised with the powerful and comprehensive arrangement, sound, FX and parameter editors accessible from the Mixer screen in Mixtikl full. Sound designers and generative artists will be able to create completely unique, distinctive, shareable and interactive sonic experiences. With their “fun factor” and total customisability, mixtikls have the potential to become a new art form.

Mixtikl 5 is available for iPad / iPhone / iPod touch, Mac, and Windows (free editions also available).

    • All of the core Noatikl parameters are available for real-time editing.
    • All changes saved when you save the mix, which can be tweeted.
    • Pattern editing with text editing of sub-patterns and randomisation options.
    • Import Noatikl files (created with Noatikl desktop, available separately) from the clipboard.
    • Save Noatikl files to User Content folder.
    • New Noatikl Seed pak, containing simple Noatikl voice type definitions.
  • Improved: Now much easier export of mixtikls for tweeting.
  • Improved: Simplified behaviour of the More menu.
  • Improved: On first load-up for most variants, auto-load and auto-start a demo mix.
  • Improved: Look of list items and FX network editor.
  • Improved: Added Clear Cell item to the Clear menu.
  • Bug fixes and general improvements.
  • See also the 4.0.0.3 release details on Mixtikl forum.

Intermorphic updates Mixtikl to v2.3, Generative Music System for Mobile, Tweeting, Web & Desktop

Intermorphic Mixtikl

Intermorphic has released version 2.3 of Mixtikl, a generative music system for mobile, tweeting, web & desktop.

Intermorphic Ltd today releases Mixtikl 2.3, the next major update to Mixtikl, featuring a new file format that makes it easier to create and tweet beguiling “mixtikls”, a new look UI and in-app store for a range of add-on content “Tiklpaks”.

The Intermorphic founders built upon the vector audio techniques they pioneered back in 2000 & 2001 (at SSEYO) where they found ways to deliver sounds in one SMS. They have continued this work and the new format lets users include custom customsound FX and mixes that reference content (generative music or audio loops) from any of the range of add-on Tiklpaks. The user’s mix can be exported as a URL for shortening by one of the popular URL shortening services and then included in a tweet. When the tweet link is selected on a iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with Mixtikl installed, Mixtikl will load and the mix play. When the tweet is selected on Windows or Mac PC with Mixtikl installed, the Mixtikl browser plugin will play the mix. Being able to tweet a mix means people can easily create, share and enjoy new mixes.

Mixtikl 2.3.0.31 for iPhone / iPad / iPod touch is already available in the Apple App Store. Mixtikl 2.3.0.36 for Mac & Windows desktop comprises a standalone version, VST and AU plugins for music sequencers, and a plugin for web browsers. The Mixtikl browser plugin allows “mixtikls” to be played in a webpage.

Mixtikl Mobile is available to purchase for $2.99 USD, Mixtikl Desktop for Windows and Mac is $29.99 USD and the Mixtikl Bundle (including soundpacks) is available for $34.99 USD.
