Puremagnetik releases alphaSynth sound library

Related: , , , Posted in news on May 23, 2012 - comment 0 comments

Puremagnetik has released alphaSynth, a library of old-school sounds captured from an early Apple home computer with an Alpha Syntauri music system.

Puremagnetik alphaSynth

The Alpha Syntauri was a music system designed around the expansion capabilities of the Apple ][. The hardware consisted of an external piano-style keyboard, with a 3-card set that plugged into the Apple ][, including a keyboard interface card, and the two-board Mountain Computer Music System. Software was designed to support music composition and performance.

Puremagnetik has captured the 8-bit charm of this early home computer music system and reprogrammed everything for the modern music workstation.

Whether you are looking for aliased chippy sounds, lo-fi leads or quirky percussion, alphaSynth brings one of the best things about 1982 right to your desktop!

alphaSynth features

  • Over 20 multi-sampled instruments with expressive articulations.
  • Hundreds of expertly recorded multi-samples.
  • Advanced Ableton Live Racks with customized Macro Controls.
  • Kontakt KSP easy edit GUI.
  • Logic EXS version includes Channel Strip Settings with Logic effects.
  • EXS Universal file format for easy importing into any audio host.

The alphaSynth micropak is now available to download for Puremagnetik subscribers.

Puremagnetik releases Baritron – A Saxophone Instrument from the Future

Puremagnetik Baritron

Puremagnetik has released Baritron, a saxophone sound library packed into a collection of 11 multisampled instruments in three eclectic categories.

Four instruments (All, Soft, Loud, Staccato) capture the classic acoustic tones of the baritone saxophone. The “All” instrument combines everything as multiple layers of velocity articulations. From quiet reed slaps to wailing growls and release clicks, Baritron has fully captured all of these saxophone nuances. Two FX instruments (Mash and Slap) are focused on recreating the pseudo-random keymashing and the percussive tongue slaps that the saxophone does so well.

In addition, Puremagnetik has created 5 experimental instruments that push the sonic barrier. Tron-Doom was made with a doubled talkbox process layered on a sub octave pitch shifter. Tron-Drillex was the result of vocoding the saxophone with the sound of an electric drill articulating a stratocaster. Tron-Lazer has 3 velocity layers of sax vocoded with a series of descending pitch slides. Tron-Maoff convolves the sound of a bowed string into the sax, combined with a enveloped filter. And finally… Tron-Vowelz is vocoded with a human voice to create 4 different tones, blendable and interchangeable.

Baritron features

  • 11 multi-sampled instruments with expressive articulations.
  • Over 500 high quality samples .
  • Advanced Ableton Live Racks with customized Macro Controls .
  • Kontakt KSP easy edit GUI .
  • Logic EXS version includes Channel Strip Settings with Logic effects.
  • EXS Universal file format for easy importing into any audio host.

Baritron for Ableton Live, Kontakt, Logic (and any host that can import EXS24 format) is now available to Puremagnetik subscribers.

Puremagnetik releases MalletPak Two for Ableton Live, Kontakt & Logic

Puremagnetik has released MalletPak Two, a collection of 13 multi-sampled vibraphone programs scrupulously recorded using a magnetic pickup and preamp.

Puremagnetik MalletPak Two

MalletPak Two crosses the threshold between acoustic and electronic sounds with heavily processed patches that modulate between bowing articulations and more conventional multi-mallet strikes.

Four different mallet types were used with multiple hits for round-robin triggering with several velocity layers each. A bowed recording for each vibe creates an ethereal patch with infinite sustain while a hybrid patch combining mallet strikes with the bowed samples allows you to mix between articulations.

The Logic, Kontakt and Ableton versions include a massive “All-Mallet” program that includes all 4 mallet types for easy switching. Additionally, there are several electrified patches using the vibraphone as a sound source to create fantastic new instruments.

MalletPak was produced in collaboration with the late Richard Lainhart.

MalletPak Two features

  • 13 multi-sampled instruments with expressive velocity programming.
  • Over 600 high quality samples.
  • Advanced Ableton Live Racks with customized Macro Controls.
  • Kontakt KSP easy edit GUI.
  • Logic EXS version includes Channel Strip Settings with Logic effects.
  • EXS Universal file format for easy importing into any audio host.

The MalletPak Two sound library is now available to download for Puremagnetik subscribers.
