Karoryfer releases Fashionbass for SFZ

Karoryfer Fashionbass

Karoryfer has released the Fashionbass open source bass sample library.

The notes are sampled every minor third with five velocity layers and three random round robins. There are also release samples (every minor third with four round robins) and percussive and fingering noises (five round robins). All together that makes 426 24-bit 44.1 kHz wav samples and a 301 MB download.

Four different SFZ mappings are included – the regular mapping which is the most realistic, one without release samples, a three-voice unison mapping with all the round robins playing at once, and a shifty five-voice unison mappings which uses higher samples pitched down to create the extra voices. The samples can be used with Plogue Sforzando and should also work with other SFZ-compatible samplers.

Fashionbass features

  • Samples of a Killer KB-Simmony bass guitar.
  • A total of 426 24-bit 44.1 kHz WAV samples.
  • Notes sampled every minor third.
  • Five velocity layers and three round robins for every note.
  • String release noises with four round robins.
  • Various percussive and fingering noises with five round robins.
  • Four different SFZ mappings with varying degrees of realism.
  • 301 MB download size.

The library is available as a free download.

Karoryfer releases Zamenhof Stickmusterstuch Error Eins & Zwei

Karoryfer has released Zamenhof Stickmusterstuch Error Eins and Zamenhof Stickmusterstuch Error Zwei, two free sample libraries featuring glitch sounds.

Karoryfer Zamenhof Stickmusterstuch Error

With most of our libraries, the goal is to make something readily usable for making music that attractive young women might want to dance to or sing along to, but with these samples Ludwik Zamenhof made no such attempt.

Of course you could work some of these sounds into a perfectly mainstream track, but they’re aimed more at ambient, industrial and glitch music. These samples can be substituted for regular drum samples and used for making micro-beats, sci-fi sound effects, or in live electronic improvisation.

Zamenhof Stickmusterstuch Error features

  • 85 samples each.
  • Both one-shots and loops.
  • Samples from various digital sources processed using both software effects and Korg Kaoss Pad hardware.
  • Kontakt instrument, SFZ mapping and WAV files included.
  • Download size: 21 MB (Eins) / 53 MB (Zwei).

The libraries are a free download at Karoryfer

Soundiron Iron Pack #5

Soundiron has launched Iron Pack #5, a new micro-library series pack in Kontakt and sfz formats, that provides a sneak peek at a future library called Bassix: Baritone Guitar.

Iron PackIron Pack 05 features nine unique ambient pads and experimental tonal drones derived from multi-sample recordings of a six-string baritone guitar, tuned a whole octave below standard. The main three pluck presets range from clean to a crunchy sustain to a shredded overdrive. We’ve included our favorite controls in the Kontakt instruments, including “Edge” for extreme shaping and a “Wind” convolution reverb selector, with 5 great halls/rooms and 5 creative FX impulses.

You’ll find regular unlocked nki presets for the full version of Kontakt 4.2.4 or later, as well as universal open source SFZ presets, if you don’t own Kontakt. The SFZ presets can be used in the free Sforzando Player, as a plugin or stand-alone engine, just like Kontakt. It can also be used in the free Alchemy Player by Camel Audio! The SFZ presets offer great sound, control features and playability.

The pack is available for purchase for $2.99 USD until June 13th, 2014. Requires full version of Kontakt 4.2.4 or later or an SFZ 2.0 compatible engine.
