After more than 2000 downloads of the free versions of the bolsterisers we’re pleased to announce an upgrade to all paid-for versions.

  • Acceleration
  • Smearing
  • Braking
  • Rounding
  • Access to internal filters
  • Overloading of internal parameters

Join the group-buy today and you can get up to 5 bolsterisers for the discount price of only £10 (normally £15/each). The group-buy is limited to the first 100 participants … so join now if you don’t want to miss-out.

whiteLABEL bolsterisers, naive dynamics family VST plugins (Group Buy)

whiteLABEL bolsterisers rev A

whiteLABEL has announced the release of the bolsterisers, a collection of naive dynamics family effect plug-ins for Windows.

The bolsterisers hark from a time before compression as we now know it. A long-obscure English experimentalist engineer and gentleman scientist by the name of Edwin Pierfax III derived the naive design of the original bolsteriser during an afternoon nap with his cat, Tiswold.

Fast-forward nearly ninety years and the bolsterisers are reborn in digital form. Unbeknownst to Pierfax, his devices survived well into the twenty-first century, and when recently discovered in Saint Pulcher’s museum of Combat Curiosities just had to be examined. After various component-level tests, it was decided to power-up the devices and take some measurements with a view to recreating these fantasy beasts in software – and here they are in their equally naive digital implementations – 5 variations all-told – each offering a slight twist on Pierfax’s original concept.

The whiteLABEL bolsterisers are available to purchase in a group buy for the introductory price of £10 GBP for the first 100 people to join.

From 16 November, 2010 (or after the group buy reaches 100 participants), the bolsterisers will only be available for their standard retail price of £15 GBP each.

Free mono versions of the plug-ins (VST 32bit Windows PC) are available to download from the whiteLABEL website.

Rough Diamond Productions releases whiteLABEL stWIP

Rough Diamond Productions whiteLABEL stWIP

Rough Diamond Productions has released whiteLABEL stWIP, a stereo digital channel strip effect plug-in for Windows.

General purpose : stWIP can be used pretty much anywhere you need stereo compression, gating, distortion or EQ. Each Filter and EQ band delivers upto 30 decibels of cut or gain and the 10 dynamics modes range from light compression to heavy companding. To top it off, the distortion unit can further boost (and/or destroy) your signal.

Bespoke : During development of stWIP, about 30 custom SynthEdit modules were created to handle the user interface and audio sub-system architecture. These modules are also available for developers to download : More information: here. The unique architecture of stWIP means it can quite easily be turned into a parallel Quad or Surround Processor – upto 12 channels … if you’d like a “wide” version of stWIP just register in the normal way, and then get in touch to let me know your required configuration, which will then be built for a modest additional fee.

stWIP is available as a VST effect plug-in for Windows for £15 GBP.

  • sideGATE : When the sidechain is higher than the threshhold, the channel is audible, when lower, gated – just the thing for controlling a reverb according to the level of a snare drum, a synth according to a hi-hat, a bass according to a bass drum and so on. (£10)
  • baddASS : designed for added oooomph. From subtle re-inforcement to storming bottom end, a little bit of rough to mind-bleeding distortion, baddASS’s drive, crush and EQ sections give you plenty of scope for re-inventing your kick-drum. (£10)
